The basement conversion is beautiful - sunny, cheerful, clean. All the folks who worked on the project were friendly and the work was carefully sealed off from the rest of the house so it wasn't disruptive. We have an old house and there were lots of odd surprises in the walls that the team dealt with easily.

We used VMAX for an extensive remodel of our 1940s home, including a complete gut of the kitchen, a bathroom, and moving multiple walls within the house. The remodel was executed flawlessly by Brian’s team at VMAX. They clearly demonstrated that they have the experience and expertise required to achieve anything in a house project. Brian, our project manager, was fantastic to work with - responsive, honest, hard-working and an advocate for his clients. We can’t recommend him enough. We will definitely be using VMAX for future projects.

VMAX did a major project in my house this year. It was to renovate the entire 2nd floor, including 2 full bathrooms - master and guest - and to replace a deck outside. The VMAX team helped me with design and selections on every step of the project. They were very flexible and attentive to all the details and tried to accomodate every little thing. There were things that I would never know to ask for (like that my original attic entrance did not have proper insulation and Brian recommended fixing it) and now I see the difference it made. Everybody in the crew is very professional and did a great job here. I am very happy with the results and would recommend this company to others.

We couldn't be happier with the renovations done by VMAX. This was our first major renovation, and we worked with an interior designer (Jessica at JTW Design) who recommended them based on success with past projects. Maks was great and fit us in their schedule during a very busy year for construction services, but we never felt like we fell through the cracks of bigger projects. We completely redesigned our kitchen, dining, and living rooms, and came in right on budget (if not less than what we initially thought it would cost), and exactly per the timeline we gave them. Our project manager Brian was the best--he communicated well, was always super friendly and pleasant, and never met a problem he couldn't solve. He helped recommend design choices when asked, and I quickly learned to trust his opinion as it almost always mirrored what our designer thought. He facilitated things between his crew, subcontractors, and our schedule well. He even caught a roof leak (unrelated to our renovation) when we were out of town, temporarily plugged it for us, called up some roofers he worked with, and had our roof completely fixed by the time we returned from our weekend trip. To say VMAX goes above and beyond puts it mildly. We hope to use them for future projects and I would absolutely recommend them to anyone seeking a reliable, professional team that will take your dream project from concept to completion.

VMax along with the designer, Liz Hart of Liz Hart Designs, successfully completed a second remodel in our home. We recently had our Rec Room and Laundry Room redone. I happily give VMax and Liz Hart a 5* review! Brian, the Project Manager, and his team were wonderful to work with also. The Rec Room went from a room my family rarely used to a room we use everyday. It is so much more functional and beautiful! The Laundry Room has changed my life! I now have an organized space with so much more storage. The area is more open with so many cabinets. The workmanship and design are impeccable! I would chose them again in a heartbeat!

We hired VMAX to remodel our master bath in the spring of 2020, and loved their work. From the beginning Max set very clear expectations and made a lot of excellent suggestions. Even with restrictions due to COVID, the project was completed beautifully, within budget and earlier than estimated. Working with Brian was amazing; he kept us informed every step of the way and consulted with us in every decision. He has GREAT ideas and notices every detail, which I think is what elevates VMAX's work well above the average. Brian came up with creative solutions to a couple of unexpected issues that made the final result even better than originally planned! The entire team of craftsmen were professional, considerate of our time and space, and obviously take great pride in their work. We liked the work so much we had them remodel our second bath, which was completed in October 2021, and are talking to them about a full kitchen remodel. I cannot recommend this company enough.

Over the past 2 years, VMAX has been great to work with on the design and construction of my new home. Working Vitas, Max, Brian and Darius has been a pleasure and probably the best experience I’ve had with home construction / renovation, and I have been fortunate in most of my experiences. The team had wonderful ideas and helped me refine the design of the house; kept me informed throughout the whole process on status, what to expect and timing; helped find items key items; and have continued to be involved throughout completing the punch list and addressing items that have popped up since moving in. My new home is beautiful and what I’ve been dreaming of for the past 5 years. Their team builds a quality home and they’re right there for every question or concern. Having been through 3 other construction / major renovations in the past 4 years and smaller projects before, I can’t emphasize enough the importance of good communication. VMAX transformed the first floor of our home into a bright and beautiful functional space. The biggest part of this remodel was the Kitchen and Butler’s pantry. I love it all! I give them 5 stars for their quality of work and professional work ethic. We were fortunate to have had such a talented team who all worked together to bring our home into the 21st Century. It was no easy task. Brian Carte, the project manager, could not have been more accommodating. He was so easy to work with and very helpful. There was never a problem he could not solve. Being that our house was built in the 1980’s, there were problems that arose and Brian gave us good advice on how to deal with the problems. He worked well with the interior designer who created the design for each room. What a relief that was to have help in making all those decisions. She made it very easy. I loved her choices. I liked that this company offered the option to have the designer design the rooms and choose the finishes for approval. Especially the kitchen. Brian coordinated everything to get it done. He was literally getting things done! They were also accommodating to changes. I wanted pocket doors between my kitchen into the Family Room. Brian made that happen along with widening the door space. I love it! Bottom line with this company, it is all about the customer. The customer is #1. We felt we were well taken care of. We loved the team! We are very happy with the final outcome of this remodel!

We were fortunate to have hired VMAX LLC and Liz Hart Designs to remodel our bathroom and laundry room. We were out of town during most of the construction but Brian (the project manager) was in constant communication with us. He and Liz had great suggestions and solutions for making each room beautiful and so functional. I can not say enough good things about Max and the crew at VMAX- I had a complete gut of my existing kitchen to a gorgeous remodeled gem. From the Demo to the finish, Carl amazed me with his dedication to making sure it turned out the way I wanted and communicated with me every step of the way- Brian was great offering me design advise and stepping in on anything I had questions about as well as touch up painting ( I say that only because they are all about the details- no matter how small it seems) I would highly recommend them to anyone thinking about remodeling any portion of their home. Words cannot fully do justice to how much I recommend VMAX. For how much I love my new bathrooms and laundry room, I love the entire VMAX team even more. They TRULY care about their work, and they made me feel as if they were working on their own home. From start to finish Max and his team were communicative, honest, up front, and it was clear every action they took was for the integrity and good of the project. My husband and I are thrilled with our new bathroom. Brian went above and beyond to make sure things were cleaned up as much as possible and dust was kept to a minimum as he was sensitive to me being asthmatic. We hired VMAX in June of 2018 to do our whole home renovation, which officially started one month later. We are thrilled with the outcome and would give them six stars if possible. Their attention to detail, excellent project management, timely communication/response, "above-and-beyond" attitude, and earned trust, in our opinion, is what stands out most to my wife and I. And the best part was completion of everything we planned within a few hundred dollars of the initial budget/estimate. We had a dedicated project lead that was onsite daily to meet the scheduled work team(s) and guide work throughout the entire 4-months of work. . It was both refreshing and convenient to have that personal touch when it came to making dozens of needed selections and decisions each week. They took care of sourcing and installing everything and keeping us informed on status and scheduling. And the quality of work and end result far exceeded our expectations! One example that really stands out is when we got to the point of installing new hardwood floors, and re-finishing the existing on the first floor of our 2-story home. We needed to be out of the house for 4-days to allow for the work and drying time. Not a big challenge for us, but not the case for our 15-year old cat. So we decided to leave the cat in the back area of our 2nd floor to minimize his stress. Our project lead offered to climb a ladder daily, while there managing the work, crawl through a window, and take care of our cat while we were away. And that is just one example of many where they understood and helped reduce the stress and burden that comes with a home renovation project., They truly get that it is more than just demo and building. It was as much about caring for us, as well as completing the work. We are grateful to VMAX for partnering with us to turn our 30-year-old home into our dream house! Unbelievable! Fantastic! I have worked with several other custom builders and renovators in the past but I have never this talent and dedication. I originally planned on renovating the master bathroom. I had such professional recommendations on this project and it turned out far beyond what I expected. It was also done in a timely manner and within cost of what was budgeted. The results were so great that I also renovated another half bathroom . . . and then gutted the upstairs bathroom and renovated that one also! I am so pleased with the talent, the quality of the products, the time in which the jobs were finished and Brian Barte, the gentlemen who was the project lead. They helped us negotiate the buying of our lot, not to mention were extremely knowledgeable in terms of handling the county and determining where on the land the house would best be suited to be built. Not only did they go on to build our dream home to our specifications, but were an integral part in the planning process. The quality of the work also speaks for itself. We were able to visit some of their previous projects and could immediately see the level of skill that surrounded their building style. Their team also used advanced technology in helping us come up with the final draft of blueprints for the home, and they had wonderful referrals and vendors with whom they work with. Above all, they truly tried to help keep us within budget, and did not sacrifice quality for cost. We were also very fortunate to stay very close to deadline, only falling prey at times to weather conditions. We continue to have a wonderful relationship with them, as they helped us get contracting work done for the home we needed to sell as well, and frequently send their skilled team to take care of any present work that needs to be done at our request. We also plan to use them for future projects on our home. We highly recommend VMAX to all our friends, and feel we undoubtedly made the right choice when selecting them.

Max and his team were absolutely amazing to work with! We did a rather large scope project on our house leaving almost no area untouched. His crew was punctual, polite, incredibly skilled, and cleaned up after themselves each day. The carpentry work that went into a large built-in cabinetry system in the living room was professional and looks amazing. Max was even able to find an antique wooden beam, over 100 years old, to fashion into a mantle above the fireplace! In our kitchen, he was able to find ways to stay within the budget and still deliver an amazing, shiny new kitchen with style and function. We give VMAX our highest recommendation, and will likely use them for any projects in the future!

We employed VMAX to renovate four bathrooms and laundry room. We found the staff to be very talented, professional and competent as well as mindful of our family living in the midst of the construction. They also worked well with my decorator in keeping the costs within the budget. Our project manager kept us apprised daily of the progress of each phase of the construction, which we greatly appreciated. The overall work might have taken longer than we had anticipated, but it was well worth the wait. We are extremely pleased with the outcome and will use VMAX in the future.

After getting 3 estimates, we contracted with Vmax to remodel our master bathroom. First and foremost, Vmax went to great lengths to protect our home. The carpets and hardwood floors were thoroughly covered to prevent damage. Plastic tarps protected any exposed furniture. Vmax quickly solved a window replacement issue and made steady progress after that. Throughout the entire process, Vmax adhered to the projected schedule. The project was a collaborative effort, a blend of our vision aided by spot on suggestions from Vmax. Fit and finish was superior. The supervisor was always +available after hours to answer any questions that arose. We are thrilled with the final result and immediately engaged Vmax for additional home improvements. 2 bathrooms completely renovated: tiles, vanities+tops, toilets, tubs, light fixtures, exhaust fans, and paint job. Nice job overall. Max explained the options, came up with an estimate, and stayed within the estimate. The first bathroom was done according to schedule, the second took a bit longer, but not too much. We got estimates from several contractors, VMAX was in the middle of the range, and the estimate was prompt and detailed. In general, Max was very responsive when we had questions or wanted things changed.

After we purchased a downtown Richmond condo that needed remodeling, we hired Max on the spot after meeting him. Max has an amazing kitchen designer and cabinet maker, great electrician, plumber and painters. With Max’s guidance, they transformed our builder grade rental into a modern metropolitan living space in just 90 days. We couldn’t be happier. When my master bedroom shower began to leak into my kitchen I determined it was time to do the bathroom remodel I have been putting off. I immediately contacted VMAX. They previously built a screened in porch and a garage for me. Both projects greatly exceeded my expectations In the beginning Maks and I had some differences of opinion on the initial concept but were able to reconcile them quickly. One of Mak’s finest attributes is his ability to listen and take the customer’s opinion very seriously. He will however, not allow the customer to go too far off course. Vitas, Darius & Max are truly a dream team especially to a new home buyer/builder. My husband and I purchased a lot in church hill (Richmond, Va). We honestly had no clue what we were doing, but never felt overwhelmed. Everyone at VMAX took care of the entire process without any issues for us. Our lot was on a corner and was fairly narrow, so building 3 feet from the sidewalk would have drastically changed the outcome of our house. Darius and Vitas pushed very hard with the city to grant us a zero lot zoning which would allow us to build right against the sidewalk. It opened up the space tremendously and we are so happy that they pushed for this outcome. That was truly remarkable because we didn't even know about zero lot zoning and wouldn't have known to even suggest the idea. They genuinely wanted to help us and give us an amazing home. Our house is beyond perfect and everyone that visits never want to leave! We don't either to be honest! We cannot say enough wonderful things about Vitas, Darius and Max!

We hired Alex to rebuild our porch that was severely damaged from a summer storm. It was not an easy project - the underlying deck foundation was not up to code, and we had to go through insurance for some of the work. Other companies either flat out rejected the project or quoted 30% more for low-end materials. In the end, Alex and his team delivered a beautiful screened-in porch on a fair budget, which even gave us room for a few upgrades. Alex was always available for questions or issues at any time of day. They truly put their clients ahead of everything else. We are 100% happy with our new porch and would highly recommend VMAX to our friends and family.

We hired VMax to execute a significant overhaul to the interior of our house. This project involved adding a second story office, a complete demolition and remodel of our master bathroom and modernization of our living room, kitchen and family room. Max and his crew completely transformed our home from a standard - issue colonial style suburban home built in 2005 to a sleek modern space. The job involved significant high quality lighting upgrades, cabinetry, replacement of fireplace and mantle and the creation of a spa like bathroom with intricate tiling. All aspects of the work were first rate - high quality and the projected was completed on time and under budget. Max and his team consulted closely with us throughout the entire process, giving us several options and ideas and purposing alternatives that firmly kept in mind the spirit of our renovation. I did a redesign/renovation of my kitchen with VMAX this summer and was amazed by the quality of work that this company puts out. Max and Vitas did an amazing job helping me create the design I wanted while keeping me on budget. They took their time explaining all possible options and outcomes, which made their approach extremely personal. I never once had to worry about the deadlines. They were able to start the job a couple of days after I approved the estimate and they finished exactly on time! This company combines integrity with hard work and a fresh, creative approach. V max constructed an addition as well as a major renovation to both the upstairs and downstairs this year (2016). Total cost $330k. His team was professional and detail oriented. The experience was a difficult one given that we lived in the house during the renovation but he and his team made it as comfortable as possible. Max is easily accessible and easily resolved any issue that arose. I would recommend this company without reservation.

We were not happy with our first house (had a variety of problems, of all sorts), so decided to carefully choose the builder for our second house. After doing a lot of research and looking at several dozen houses – some already built, some still under construction – we chose VMAX, but were still reluctant: we wanted a house with as few problems as possible. To say that VMAX has built us a house with few problems is understatement - VMAX has built us a dream house. Impeccable design (with our participation), excellent quality, best workmanship available. And, what is also important – VMAX provided great time management. They were never late on any stage of construction – all the delays were our fault: we did not always chose granite, ceramic tile, kitchen / bathroom cabinets on time. Yet VMAX built us a 5.200 sq. ft. house in under 6 months. Had we not procrastinated, I am sure 5 months would not be a problem for VMAX. Our house warms our hearts – we have a Transitional style house with all the technology and gadgets available: maintenance-free deck (made of PVC), wiring for a back-up generator, fully conditioned crawl space, eco-friendly paint (no allergies), LED-lighting (saves us a lot of money) - we can go on and on. We’d recommend VMAX to anyone who is considering building or renovating, without a doubt, without a slightest reservation.

Max did a superb job for us. Our renovation involved 2 upstairs bathrooms and a downstairs master bedroom. I selected his bid because his was least expensive compared to two others. Except for some add ons that we chose the project ended up costing less than we had expected. With regard to the first floor master, he removed built in shelving/desk/carpeting, installed a hard wood floor, rewired, and painted. The room looks fantastic. The upstairs master bath and a smaller full bath needed to be gutted. Max was especially good with helping us select tub, toilets, granite, tile, and fixtures. Throughout the job his workers were considerate, easy to have around, and efficient. I left Max in charge of the house and never worried about anything. Max finished the work in a timely manner. In addition to the assigned project Max's crew repaired other things such as leaky faucets and sticky locks. We were overjoyed with the results and would be happy to talk with anyone who is considering hiring him.

I am giving a review of VMAX LLC as an architect and interior designer. One of our clients in Richmond paired us together for an extensive renovation and addition to her home. Our design for the interior renovation was very modern, clean-lined, and none of the details were cliché. Due to the speed that we had to produce the drawings for a permit, there was a certain level of incompleteness that worried me. However, throughout the bidding phase and construction, there was constant communication that developed a great chemistry between me and Max the project manager. I have learned about Max that he is a fan of modern design, he understands that there is a design intent, and I especially appreciated that he took care to get our details correct (all are rarities with most builders). As with most renovations, there were unforeseen conditions that had to be corrected, which caused unexpected delays to the schedule. Even when the owner (who occupied the home during construction) would get frustrated, Max always had a calm and cool demeanor. When the owner decided to reroute furniture we ordered to a Richmond warehouse, Max and his team intercepted them and even assembled them for her in her home. When the owner approved tiles that turned out to be tricky to install, Max did not complain or demand extra money. He had his tile sub-contractor return multiple times to fix individual tiles until the installation satisfied the owner and us. After working on this project, I would consider Max now a friend and our go-to Builder for residential projects in Richmond. With our firm being based in Roanoke, it became crucial that we developed trust, report, and an open line of communication to ensure this project became a success. No job goes smoothly but it’s good to know that when there are drawing omissions or mistakes, we have someone who will work together and make it right for the owner instead of pointing fingers.

I had several projects with this company and can recommend it for all kinds of home improvement. Over several years they did full kitchen and bathroom remodeling for me, a room conversion into a laundry/storage room, concrete driveway, house painting, gutter installation, carpet replacement, and a few smaller projects like adding a closet and painting a room. The staff is knowledgeable and very helpful. As an example, my kitchen remodeling project came as a result of water damage, so I did not have much time to plan how I want my new kitchen done. Vitas and Max helped me with the design, came up with great ideas, were patient with me picking materials and colors that I liked, and stayed within budget. Thanks!

I chose VMAX to build my first home. As a first time home owner, I had many questions and concerns and they walked me through every step of the process. On top of being my builder, they were also my designer. It was great to sit down with them and look at the 3D plans they created so I could visualize the home before it was even started. Once the building started, they kept me updated every step of the way. They even kept a look out for deals on everything from flooring to lighting to help me save money! I couldn't have asked for a better experience. I would highly recommend VMAX LLC for new home building and for any renovations.

VMax is an honest and reliable building contractor who is responsible for overseeing construction on both new and old buildings and structures. VMAX helps to organize and manage all aspects of a building site – there is no too small or too difficult job for these guys. I was in the process of gutting my kitchen and found VMAX on Craigslist! Max and the gang were absolutely wonderful. They gave me suggestions on what we could actually do with the 2 rooms I was making into one big fabulous kitchen. VMAX kept me informed on what they would be doing that day and when they would be at the house. VMAX was very affordable and I have recommended them to numerous friends and family. After the kitchen project was complete I also had them re-do the master bathroom which also blew me away. VMAX completes the entire job, so you don't have to worry about finding a plumber, painter, floor installer, electrician, etc......which alleviates so much of the stress.

We highly Recommend them without reservation. Throughout the six months building process, both Max and Vitas were professional, thoughtful, flexible and eager to please and meet our needs. It was important to us to stay close to our budget and we were pleased that the initial assessment of the scale and cost of our project was accurate. Our builder was absolutely clear and transparent in their project planning, record keeping and chose highly skilled and trustworthy contractors, whom they managed flawlessly. Another benefit to using VMAX is that Max and Vitas stay on top of industry trends by participating in builder conventions and shows. As a result they are extremely creative and were able to bring a lot of innovative and original ideas to our house. They also brought in a gifted wood and trim crafter for our custom cabinetry and trim, and he was able to work magic! Overall the detail, design and execution were done with precision and excellence! VMAX takes pride in planning, design and execution, but yet are very attentive to the customers’ needs. What differentiates VMAX from other builders above all is the drive for perfection, attention they dedicate to customers needs and flexibility. Max made our dream bathrooms come true. While we received quotes from other designer/contractors, we were repeatedly told that certain things we wanted "can't be done". When we asked Max, he just said "why not"? Max has a keen sense of style and made several suggestions that improved the overall project. He was also able to save us money by suggesting alternate vendors (even Amazon). Max and his crew of skilled craftsmen who came into our home, did their best to minimize the mess and disruption. They were able to surpass our expectations at every turn. They were a joy to work with throughout the project. In fact, they found structural and plumbing issues with our 1950's vintage home and resolved them correctly. They repeatedly did the "little extras" that really made a difference in the long run. We have completed several major renovations on our home over the years, and this was by far our best experience with a contractor in the Richmond area. We would not hesitate to recommend Max to anyone looking to build or renovate. He is the best.

Overall - great company! We had an existing porch renovated and a portion of it turned into a covered and screened porch. Stain-quality fir timber was used, and high quality mosquito netting, and further projects (like installing fans, lights, etc) have also been planned and discussed - but not yet implemented. Excellent service, maintained great communication throughout the project, collaborated well to create a design that matched our taste/home/budget. When we finally decided to remodel our master bathroom and master bedroom VMAX was naturally the company of choice. Our remodeling project was very challenging from the very beginning. We wanted a full overhaul of our bathroom and the walk-in closet. For the bathroom we were planning to install heated floors, towel heater and glass door shower. We also wanted a modern bathroom and VMAX came up with the brilliant design ideas, helped us with the tile selection and finding matching and very stylish lighting fixtures. We were delighted with the results - the attached pictures speak for themselves! It goes without saying that VMAX is our Builder for Life!

Hired VMAX to remodel the small kitchen at my rental condo. Max at VMAX recommended using lighter color kitchen cabinets and floors as the kitchen did not have windows. It came out great! Max and his team were easy to work with - professional, hard working and very customer-oriented. They listen to all my requests (types of cabinets, lights under the cabinets and knobs) and completed the project timely and within budget.
