“We have been delighted with RMD, with their designs and the transformations of a house into our home. We had originally created the floor space but struggled with how to finish it to realise its full potential and create a home that was right for us. RMD suggested themes, textures and colours that we would never have considered ourselves but that we really love. Presenting a number of options to better understand our preferences was a great part of the process – even merging some themes to get to the best result for us. It was a collaborative process throughout and once the team got to know us, the designs for further rooms were straightforward. RMD have achieved a warm and comfortable style balanced with practicality, flow and best use of space. We could not be happier. “Diane, Emma and the Team We would like to thank you all and say that our kitchen has surpassed our wildest dreams. 12 months ago we approached several kitchen designers and were extremely disappointed with their lack of vision and understanding of our requirements and aspirations. Then you were recommended to us by a friend and from our very first meeting with Emma it was clear that not only did you understand our requirements, but your product was clearly superior and your vision was leagues ahead of the competition. You took what was previously two rooms, forming a very poor working space, and developed a design that integrated the rooms into a single well-structured kitchen. Emma was excellent and a pleasure to work with. From producing the initial design and being patient with us through the detailed design and selection of units and appliances, giving us valuable guidance and ideas throughout the entire process. We have finally added all our finishing touches and love spending time in our new kitchen, cooking, relaxing and entertaining. “My old bathroom was very dated and dark. I knew I wanted to remove the bath and replace it with a large walk in shower but couldn’t figure out how the space would work. Pete used the 3D room design to show me how the reimagined space would work and how the colour scheme would look. I wasn’t sure about how the mirror would look in next to the window but Pete encouraged me to try this innovative method and explained why it would work. It completely made the bathroom and creates lots of light. I’m so pleased with how the bathroom has looked. Thank You so much!”

“I have known Lana for some time and have seen many examples of the magic she has worked for other clients. A couple of years ago I bought a large, Victorian house which had many original features intact, but was in need of a complete makeover from top to bottom. Other than wanting to keep the original fireplaces, deep skirting boards, lincrusta wallcovering and decorative covings, I didn't really have a particular 'look' in mind. Lana explained that the refurbishment would have to be completed in phases, with the first stage focusing on building work. The combination of her meticulous planning and extensive network of contacts meant that the replumbing, rewiring, complete window replacement and building of a new staircase were all completed on time, to budget and with the minimum of fuss. There was, of course, a lot of disruption during this part of the process but the end results were worth it. Lana's input into the design of the new, large double glazed sash windows has turned them into beautiful features, rather than functional objects. Her design of the new staircase to fit into a tight space demonstrates her technical expertise aswell as creativity. Phase 2 of the project involved the replacement of bathrooms and the kitchen. Lana designed the layouts for each, starting with a blank piece of paper. A number of options were explained to me, from the fairly straightforward replacement like-for-like of fittings, through to the complete rebuild including removal of walls. Having selected the preferred layout (I went for the complete rebuild), Lana then set to work sourcing unusual and stunning tiles, worktops, fittings and lighting. The results are amazing - totally functional rooms but beautiful at the same time. The final phase (for now, at least) of the transformation was the one which people normally associate with interior designers - furniture, fabrics, floor coverings, lighting and accessories. I confess to being hopeless at putting together combinations of colours, designs and textures but Lana is an absolute star. The array of products she is able to source from around the world is incredible and for each room I was presented with alternative schemes. I have contemporary furniture from Italy covered in fabric from France, sliding panels created from Japanese silk, light fittings from Portugal and bespoke furniture, hand crafted locally to Lana's original design. The overall look of the house is phenomenal. The original Victorian features have been brought back to life by careful choices of colour and are complemented throughout by the careful choice of modern materials. As if this isn't enough, Lana produces fabulous original artwork on canvas, glass, metal and wood. The perfect finishing touch to any room.”

Med hänsyn till allt från färg, ljus, och texturer till inredning, möbler, dörrar och fönster. Inredningsarkitektur är helt enkelt mer än bara dekoration. Det är trots allt få privatpersoner som verkligen har koll på material, storlek, tjocklek och så vidare när det till exempel kommer till att ta ner en vägg, eller flytta på en vägg. Vid ett sådant tillfälle är en inredningsarkitekt alldeles ypperligt att kontakta. Är det däremot en mindre renovering du tänker sätta igång med där det inte ska göras några förändringar med själva rummet kanske en inredningsstylist passar bättre. Får du exempelvis inte till vardagsrummet så som du vill? Då kan en inredare hjälpa till! Oftast räcker det bara med att berätta sin vision för dem, så tar de fram ett moodboard och förslag på hur du skulle kunna ha det hemma som de föreslår för dig. Gillar du det så skrider de till verket, men känns det inte helt rätt så kommer de med nya förslag. Allt som oftast är de allra flesta supernöjda med en inredare när de har anlitat en, och det kan förändra ett helt hem!
