Jillian Pate is steel sculptor exploring connectivity and synergy of all material things through abstraction. Influenced by music theory and patterns of order and disorder frequently observed in the natural and physical sciences, her work takes shape through the study of musical fugues and canons as well as entropy, rhythm and recursion in nature; DNA, proteins and the genetic code. Jillian received her Bachelors of Fine Arts from the University of Denver in 2010 and is in progress on a Masters of Architecture from University of Colorado, Denver. Her work is showcased in collection across the US.

I am a student at Colorado State University who is passionate about the life altering effects Interior Design possesses. My top priority has always been to work toward client satisfaction and the fulfillment of a space that works well with the tasks and desires of its users. These values have derived from my experience on single, partnered, and group assignments that have allowed me to make lifelong connections and produce projects that I take great pride in. Attending a CIDA accredited program has been a great fortune and taught me more about design than I could’ve ever dreamed of. Our curriculums have granted us with substantial service learning projects and challenged us to think critically about design decisions. I find myself assessing the impact of interiors daily and devising ideas as to how I could improve the things that are less successful and draw inspiration from qualities that enrich the space. Often times I will jot down notes, take photographs, sketch a quick vignette, or create an inspiration board to record these solutions so that I can use them as a quick reference in future projects. If these concepts are ineffective I am always receptive toward critic and will gladly accept suggestions to ensure that the space satisfies its users.
