Thanks, Elmer. Though I don't see any major travel in my future, I have been very fortunate to have traveled a lot during my life. I have spent time in Paris and the Loire Valley, traveled all around Ireland and spent some time in Italy - Rome, Florence and Tuscany. I have also spent 3 months traveling, camping with friends all throughout Canada and seen most of the National Parks in the US. I have lived in California and Maryland before coming home to Ohio. I feel like it was the best education, living among people that were mostly different from me.
That to me has been the best part of my life. Traveling with friends. Great fun and so great to see how others live and what they love about their own lives. So if the majority of my travel is behind me, I have tons of photos and lots of memories and I still see my fellow travelers all the time, lifelong friends. I don't have any regrets.

The SS set I've had for many years now, I picked up @ Dollar Tree, of all places. They're pretty sturdy and have a little spout so can be used for both dry and liquid measuring. They have alt. measurement markings inside as well. The handles aren't solid - they look like this:

We have a 5 piece set of the All clad stainless cups and matching spoons. We also have a tupperware set. Had them both for at least 2.5 decades. Not sure how much she paid for the All Clad but I believe she bought them when she was working at the place where she bought them so got a 40% discount.

My mom used to make pizzas from scratch and freeze them ahead of time. Red chili or green chili freezes up nicely. I used to make breakfast burritos, 64 at a time and freeze them.

@bpath, that was a regular thing we did back when I was in university :-D Once we went in costume to a showing at the local airforce base- one of the group was in the airforce. We also went as a group entry in the masquerade at a national science fiction convention (I was Magenta :-D). I can remember doing the time warp all the way back to the car afterwards, and it wasn't a New Year's party without doing the time warp :-D :-D :-D
DH and I went to see it on stage when we were dating and went to see it on the other side of the country for our 25th anniversary. We've also seen it a couple more times since then when there's been a production we could get to.
There are so many reels of interviews of him, now that he is gone. I have been watching them all. That quirky smile of his gets me. Like he knows more than he's telling. So delightful. I never knew he was in criminal minds. Will have to look that up and watch them all.

@LoneJack Zn 6a, KC, I’ll have what Willie is having. He just keeps on hanging in there. Saw him at a concert with the Avett Brothers a couple of years ago. He struggled a bit walking onto thenstage, but sounded just like Willie when he played and sang although he spoke about as many of the lyrics as he sang. Still a great show.

When I was working I had a small rear view mirror attached to one of my monitors so I could see anyone sneaking up behind me. I gave it to a co-worker when I retired.

Pictures of the cards are enough. It's actually what my boss is about to do. They downsized his home, and he'll have to downsize his office that's covered in awards. His wife told him not to bring it home. He's happy with just the pictures. Even the one of his 30+ year old medical degree. I'm sentimental enough, I'd keep that one.

My happy hens give me lots of eggs so we eat them in all kinds of ways. My favorite, though, has to be creme brulee.
Other than that it's an over easy egg with good bread and some butter, which my cardiologist frowns very sternly about. He tells me one egg per day will make a difference in my cholesterol that is "statistically insignificant", so eat them but give up the butter. (sigh) Turns out I don't really like bread all that much, I mostly like the butter, LOL.

Kevin - if your question is does it taste like Pace salsa the answer is no. It is much better and tastes as close to freshly made than any canned salsa that I've ever eaten.
I made Anna's recipe today and followed it as written but I left the sugar out. It was sweet enough for us with just the tomato paste . Adding sugar has no effect on the PH in either direction at all so won't effect a PH reading. It had a very nice fresh aroma my wife and I both liked, the flavor was very good and nothing was overpowering.
After letting a sample cool to room temperature I only got a few drops of liquid on a #8 strainer after 2 minutes so it's very thick and certainly won't drip from a chip. I turned the salsa sample into a paste with an immersion blender and took the reading with my newest PH meter. The number was 3.99 which is a safe number nearly in the sweet spot commercial producers shoot for, 4.00 to 4.20 and is also my own target.
I didn't sample the liquid to see the Ph difference between juice and solids but because of the low vegetable to tomato ratio and fine chop size (1/4") I'm nearly confident PH equilibrium is complete. In my opinion I don't see the PH creeping above 4.05 and will never hit 4.2, and the chance of the Ph going to 4.6 is an huge absolute ZERO.
The sauce is very safe, but I'm not an approving authority so take it for what it's worth. I would can and eat it with absolutely no fear at all. It's a good salsa but I'm sorry to say I did not can it. Not because it wasn't good, it was, but it just doesn't fit the profile of salsa we personally like with a higher percentage of vegetables and a little less tomato paste and sauce.
It didn't go to waste and we made spaghetti sauce with Italian sausage and knocked out the vinegar with baking soda and MSG s, along with other seasonings.
As I've often said, taste is subjective and not objective, so not everyone likes the same thing.
I'm glad it didn't go to waste.

KW, my farm lady MIL, never washed eggs or refrigerated them.
The lady that I get eggs from, no refrigerating or washing. They are used up quite quickly, though.

I've never sold veggies from my garden but I do give some away when I have surplus. I do sell eggs from my flock of chickens but only about 5 dozen a month which brings is enough to buy their feed.
A friend's daughter planted 2 acres or so of pumpkins again this year to sell in October. She is the president of her school's FFA. Last year she made about $4K from her pumpkin patch
I do sell eggs to the B&B across the road, about 10 dozen a week, and make just about enough money to pay for the chicken feed. I have sold excess garden vegetables and made a few dollars but mostly I just give it away. If no one wants it I take it to the local food pantry who is always glad to take my zucchini or tomatoes. They took the first bucket full of poblanos last year, but said no one would take them, LOL, so turned down more.
I grow most of my own garden seedlings and save my own seeds, so I grow 120 petunias for a neighbor, some specific heirloom tomato seedlings for the neighbors who own the B&B, and extra garlic for a retired Marine sergeant who lives down the street. They pay me for the seeds but since I already have lights and shelves and pots and it doesn't really cost me anything other than soil and seed, I'm good with that.
I do not ship anything and I don't charge for my time. I figure I'm doing something I like and just doing it a little extra is a double bonus for me. The Marine just brought me a half gallon of maple syrup he tapped and processed last winter in return for eggs and tomatoes. I think I got the better of that deal although no money changed hands.

Never heard of such a thing but it doesn't seem like much of an effort/time saver to me. You would still have to move it from one window to the next. Maybe if you lived in a mansion with some humongous windows but then you would probably be hiring a window cleaner to do the job periodically.
I can wash the 20 or so windows on my ranch house in about 3 hours.
I just call my window washer people. Plus, I don't have to store the robot in between uses.
That AI summary didn't mention apartment buildings, where I think there's a potential market for these things........most buildings never wash windows as often as they should. And they're far cheaper than window washing people (except yourself) - though they're obviously not right for every home and window configuration.
I can't remember the last time I bought hamburger in any form. I still have about 75 pounds left from the steer we had butchered back in February. It needs to last until the next steer is ready to process about this time next year.
Yeah. A Japanese friend makes PBJ sushi rolls, and I'm convinced those didn't have to be pre-frozen. The common parlance here is to refer to fish used to make sushi "sushi fish" or "fish for sushi", and when fish handlers on TV say sushi fish is frozen etc., I think most people understand what's being said. I didn't know that the Bay area salmon season was back. Good to know.
"Local" commercial and sport salmon fishing has been closed for the last three years and reopened this year. I only eat it, I don't fish it, so I don't know the geographical boundaries of the moratorium, how much of the coast was involved.

Jack, freezing counts, so you're still doing OK. :-) I have a Maran and I found that they have to "grow into" the substance they produce to make the eggs dark brown. They'll lay dark eggs for a couple of years and then they will start getting lighter and lighter, like they've run out of the pigment that makes the eggs dark, if that makes sense. The older the Maran the lighter the egg becomes. The eggs are still delicious, though, so I'm good with that.
PM, it's been in the 90s here and we have had about half an inch of rain total in the past 6 weeks. The garden is only doing well because of the sprinklers. Between the groundhogs, the raccoons in the sweetcorn and the potato bugs it seems like I'm fighting pests as well as weather. I won't be doing anything else with corn this year unless I buy some, unfortunately. On the flip side, corn is not my favorite thing from the garden, so I'm OK with a shortage of that. Frost got the apples, the peaches and the sweet cherries, so none of those this year and not many strawberries. Blackberries are yet to be determined, I suppose I should water those tomorrow too!
I think tomorrow I'll be canning some hot pepper mustard, if no one finds something else for me to do. Probably green beans again, and then eventually there will be grapes if they keep looking as good as they do now.
