I guess my style is somewhat "traditional". I like medium reddish wood colors (cherry, mahogany, red oak, merbau, rosewood, etc). I like some glossy white fixtures, the color blue, black & gold, and chrome. I also like bullseye rosettes/plinth blocks. I am fascinated by modern designs, but I prefer older styles in my own home. I have a fascination with hidden storage and secret rooms.
Mitt nästa projekt: I am currently working on my own ensuite bathroom. It is about halfway done. After that I need to:
1. Remove the cracked fiberglass shower/tub unit from my mother's ugly ensuite.
2. Remove the floor from that ugly bathroom.
3. Put in new flooring with a moisture barrier and put a top layer of flooring-- level it as best as I can, and install linoleum.
4. Paint the shelves and vanity cabinets (this one is low priority)
5. Fix the sink so the cold water stops dripping
6. Replace the outdated tub/shower faucet with up-to-code anti-scald fixtures.
7. Replace the tub/shower with either a walk-in shower or a multi-piece tub/shower.
8. Add grab bars and a shower seat to make it ADA friendly for my mother.
9. Perhaps add grab bars near the toilet.
10. Possibly cut an access panel to the hall closet to get towels.
11. Replace the carpet in the hallway with vinyl plank.
12. Replace the messed up parquet hardwood flooring in the kitchen with vinyl plank.
13. Put molding up around the tops of the cabinets and seal everything up to keep mice out.
14. Replace the garbage disposal unit
15. Fix the falling/fallen ceiling tiles in the kitchen
16. Gut the laundry room and nonfunctional guest bathroom
17. Move guest bath to where laundry room currently is and move laundry to other side of wall where guest bath currently is.
18. New flooring for laundry room, hallway, and bathroom area.
19. Put in moisture barrier, rework electrical, redo plumbing, figure out DWV system, caulk around windows, put up wall panels that are missing in hallway
20. Add some storage and laundry sorting spots for laundry room.
21. Perhaps find more spots for litterpans.
22. Get a whole house surge protector and fix the wiring in the house
23. Replace/fix porch light at front
24. Replace/fix exterior light at back
25. Install back steps bc old ones were broken
26. Add more gutters to roof and trim tree branches
27. Clean off vinyl siding and put up some sun/rain barriers on the porch.
28. Fix some broken waterlines outdoors
29. Have a new barn built and put troughs for cows in it OR also fix up existing troughs.
30. Put a cover over cow's water trough to keep leaves and sticks out of it.
31. level spot where we park the car and put something down to keep dogs from digging under it (but something that will not damage tree roots to 400 year old oak tree).

Om mig: I'm a stay-at-home caretaker for my disabled mother, a novice at home repair, and an animal lover. I love looking at pictures of various things and I am inspired by other people's projects.
