This photo was taken on a very cold winter morning. The landscape is untouched except for where the snowplow came through. I pulled back from the house so it wasn't blocked by the snow piles and your eye is drawn to the roof lines and mountains. I could have taken this at dusk, but most of my interior shots needed to be done in the morning so I decided to catch the glow of the lit windows at dawn. Knowing that this house is a place for creativity and contemplation, it felt right to take this "quiet" photo early morning. I envisioned people starting to get up, pot of coffee brewing and the morning light slowly beginning to filter in through the windows.
