We chose a beautiful inky blue for this London Living room to feel fresh in the daytime when the sun streams in and cozy in the evening when it would otherwise feel quite cold. The colour also complements the original fireplace tiles. We took the colour across the walls and woodwork, including the alcoves, and skirting boards, to create a perfect seamless finish. Balanced by the white floor, shutters and lampshade there is just enough light to keep it uplifting and atmospheric. The final additions were a complementary green velvet sofa, luxurious touches of gold and brass and a glass table and mirror to make the room sparkle by bouncing the light from the metallic finishes across the glass and onto the mirror

The lounge has a much warmer feel now and is more sociable by moving existing furniture into new positions, softer lighting and warmer colors on the walls all add to this feel.

We created this living space with the client's brief in mind. He wanted a calm place where he could relax and feel at home. He likes traditional and contemporary interior styles and wanted assistance in finding the right furniture and finishes to complement his favourite artwork and decorative pieces. We worked with a skilled joiner and designed a bespoke storage unit with a pull out shelf to be used as a desk when needed.

This is the view from the living room through to the bedroom. Both rooms flow together but also have their own distinct personalities. The calm, neutral palette blends the two with pops of blue in the living room complemented by touches of soft pink in the bedroom. The client has bedding with blue edging (not shown here) and pink in the artwork and flowers in the living room that is another careful detail to quietly link the two rooms together. This family lounge now flows through to the connecting diningroom/play area, making a much more usable space for all the family to enjoy together
