Mavella HomeFor the primary bathroom, we played with pattern and kept the floors neutral, but incorporated patterned tiles to the entire back wall. We added a soaking tub and enclosed shower with a glass door. A reeded vanity and board and batten on the walls were added for texture, along with a stacked quartz countertop. Lastly, we balanced it all out with champagne bronze hardware and sconces for a sophisticated feel.

Kitchen Design ConceptsThis bold jack and jill bathroom centers around the color black making a statement piece out of this entire room. Faucets, accessories, and shower fixtures are from Kohler's Purist collection in Matte Black. The commode, also from Kohler, is a One-Piece from the Santa Rosa collection, making it easy to keep clean. Floor tile is White Thassos Honed from Marble Systems. The main wall surround tile and matching pencil liners came from Daltile - their Antico Scuro Honed material. Wall tile is an 8x36 plank-style set in a brick lay. The accent wall in the shower is from Renaissance Tile, as well as teh shower floor and liners. White Thassos is used on the floor, while a White Thassos Cheveron pattern with Sand Dollar strips (mosaic) in White polished covers the accent wall. A clear glass shower entry with black clamps and hardware lets you see the design without sacrifice.

The steel-framed vanity and shower doors are focal points of the room. The white subway tiles extend from floor to ceiling on all 4 walls, and are highlighted with black grout. The dark bronze fixtures accent the steel and complete the industrial vibe. The transom window in the shower provides ample natural light and ventilation.

Design Director Zoe Lee’s passion for customization is evident in this city residence where she melds the elevated experience of luxury hotels with a soft and inviting atmosphere that feels welcoming. Lee’s panache for artful contrasts pairs the richness of strong materials, such as oak and porcelain, with the sophistication of contemporary silhouettes. “The goal was to create a sense of indulgence and comfort, making every moment spent in the homea truly memorable one,” says Lee.
By enlivening a once-predominantly white colour scheme with muted hues and tactile textures, Lee was able to impart a characterful countenance that still feels comfortable. She relied on subtle details to ensure this is a residence infused with softness. “The carefully placed and concealed LED light strips throughout create a gentle and ambient illumination,” says Lee.
“They conjure a warm ambiance, while adding a touch of modernity.” Further finishes include a Shaker feature wall in the living room. It extends seamlessly to the room’s double-height ceiling, adding an element of continuity and establishing a connection with the primary ensuite’s wood panelling. “This integration of design elements creates a cohesive and visually appealing atmosphere,” Lee says.
The ensuite’s dramatically veined marble-look is carried from the walls to the countertop and even the cabinet doors. “This consistent finish serves as another unifying element, transforming the individual components into a
captivating feature wall. It adds an elegant touch to the overall aesthetic of the space.”
Pops of black hardware throughout channel that elegance and feel welcoming. Lee says, “The furnishings’ unique characteristics and visual appeal contribute to a sense of continuous luxury – it is now a home that is both bespoke and wonderfully beckoning.”
