Legacy Builders GroupThis Wyoming master bath felt confined with an
inefficient layout. Although the existing bathroom
was a good size, an awkwardly placed dividing
wall made it impossible for two people to be in
it at the same time.
Taking down the dividing wall made the room
feel much more open and allowed warm,
natural light to come in. To take advantage of
all that sunshine, an elegant soaking tub was
placed right by the window, along with a unique,
black subway tile and quartz tub ledge. Adding
contrast to the dark tile is a beautiful wood vanity
with ultra-convenient drawer storage. Gold
fi xtures bring warmth and luxury, and add a
perfect fi nishing touch to this spa-like retreat.
David Reid HomesThis knock down and rebuild had a house that faced the wrong way on a well established flat and sunny section. The new two-storey home is sited towards the rear of the section, so the living and outdoor areas face north.
The brief was to create a clean-lined, contemporary family home that would accommodate three teenagers and their sociable parents and have “light, light, light” – big windows to capture the sun and to bring the sense of suburban greenery indoors.
The lower level is clad in dark-stained vertically run cedar, wrapping over the north facing living areas, the garage and a blade wall that hides the living room from the driveway. The upper level is clad in crisp white plaster, and is staggered and pushed towards the rear of the site. A cantilevered section slices through one corner to hang above the entrance, sheltering it from the elements.
Inside, there are four bedrooms, three bathrooms and two living rooms – allowing space for separation. Interior features include: a bold concrete stairwell with a screen of matai boards (rescued from the previous home), a sophisticated kitchen – complete with fingerprint-proof black cabinetry with bevelled handles, Calacatta Supreme Stone bench tops and a scullery with a coffee/bar area – and an ensuite with floor-to-ceiling Carrara marble-look tiles and concrete floor.

TruKitchensThe master bathroom's black and white color palate ensures that the double vanity by Eclipse Cabinetry in Arizon Cypress pops. The floor to ceiling linen cabinets feature hidden hampers that keep the space tidy.

The countertop is MSI Quartz Blanco Statuarietto with a backsplash at the makeup vanity desk area. The tile in the shower is Vara Groven 12 x 24 porcelain tile with accent tile in Source Taupe 1 x 1 hexagon mosaic porcelain tile. With stationary glass panels to create open shower walls. A Kichler Lasus 6 bulb chandelier and wall light in polished nickel finish, Kichler City Loft 1-bulb sconce in polished nickel finish, a Nuvo Denver flush mount ceiling light was installed and a LED lighted fog-free dimmable wall mirror for the makeup vanity area. A Delta Vero rain shower with slide bar and hand wand in chrome finish, Delta Vero faucet, towel bar, paper holder, towel ring in chrome finish. Kohler Ladena undermount vitreous china sink in white finish. The flooring is Vera Groven 12 x 24 matte honed porcelain tile.
Designs by CherylElegant French country style brings a richness to this Traditional Master bathroom which was completely renovated. The white raised panel cabinets stand out with the petite glass handles for drawer pulls. The gold traditional wall mirrors make a statement with the gold vanity lights dripping with crystals. The visual comfort wall sconce also dripped with crystals creates an ambiance reflecting the light and the blue walls. The classic clawfoot tub make a huge statement to this space. Added to the walls are gold European picture frame boxes that stand tall and linear. There is a black marble mosaic inlay design in the middle of the Carrara marble flooring.
Thayer Hopkins ArchitectsTop to bottom interior and exterior renovation of an existing Edwardian home in a park-like setting on a cul-de-sac in San Francisco. The owners enjoyed a substantial collection of paintings, sculpture and furniture collected over a lifetime, around which the project was designed. The detailing of the cabinets, fireplace surrounds and mouldings reflect the Art Deco style of their furniture collection. The white marble tile of the Master Bath features a walk-in shower and a lit onyx countertop that suffuses the room with a soft glow.

The black and white patterned flooring sets the tone, with a bold green tile in the bathtub/shower combination. A fun geometric black tile was used above each vanity, giving each child their own area. A veined gray quartz was used for the countertops and black matte fixtures compliments the look.
