Designed for good energy... Our client was looking to create a space for retreat, tranquility, serenity. The existing space was somewhat funky without balance and made it difficult to feel good. Working within an existing courtyard space, we were limited. No matter, our goal was to remedy this outdoor courtyard/sunset balcony space. Our idea was to keep the space cozy but create destination spaces where you can lay down in the grass and look up at the stars. Walk bare foot atop the different hardscape surfaces, reclaimed brick patio & walkway, Silvermist flagstone, terra cotta tiles & tiffway bermuda. The idea of sitting in front of a magical rock island stone fireplace reading a book, sharing conversation with family & friends gives us warm feelings. Bubbling water features dance through out this space creating sounds of trickling brooks you could only hear if you were in a far far away place. The courtyard walls disappear, with plants and trees wrapping there arms around our client while relaxing under a 45 year old ascalone olive tree. A healing garden was the finished product, so much, its a space that you don't ever want to leave....

Något av det allra bästa med att bo i hus, det är att den allt som oftast kommer med en tillhörande, fantastisk trädgård. Små som stora trädgårdar ger en verkligen ett extra rum i ens hem, i alla fall under sommarhalvåret. På vintern är det kanske inte lika härligt att spendera dagarna med att plantera fruktträd, lägga marksten och påta med växter i sin eklektiska trädgård, men å andra finns alltid möjligheten att bygga snögubbar och annat kul. Trädgården är minst sagt ett underbart tillägg till ett hem, och om man tar väl hand om den så kan man utnyttja den otroligt mycket. Lyckligtvis så finns det massor av eklektiska trädgårdsidéer, så vilka tankar man än går i gällande sin eklektiska trädgård, kan man alla gånger få lite hjälp på traven!

Kan jag ha nytta av trädgården året om?

När man tänker på sin trädgård så är det lätt att tankarna svärar iväg till sommarens soliga dagar, men det behöver faktiskt inte alls vara så. Med rätt inställning och trädgårdsdesign kan man vara i den året om! Träd och buskar behöver omsorg inte minst under hösten och vintern, så för den trädgårdsintresserade finns det helt klart massor att påta med, oavsett om man har en liten eller stor trädgård. Dessutom så finns det en hel del trädgårdsväxter som trivs lika bra fastän det är frost om morgnarna, och så kan man låta rosor och andra blommor leva upp på sommaren. Att inte glömma är dessutom all härlig trädgårdsbelysning som det finns att tillgå, som till och med kan liva upp mörkaste och gråaste november.

Hur mycket tid måste jag lägga på en eklektisk trädgård?

När man planerar en bohemisk trädgårdsdesign ska man alltid ha i åtanke att man kommer behöva ta hand om den år efter år, och inte bara en gång. Häckar och perenner kan vara mycket mer lättskötta än andra trädgårdsväxter, och dessutom kan det bli riktigt fint. Två flugor i en smäll med andra ord, och det ska man inte underskatta. Annat att ha i åtanke när det vankas art déco trädgårdsplanering är att anlägga en bra gräsmatta, kanske med lite tillhörande prydnadsgräs, och varför inte ha en trädgårdsdamm och lite trädgårdskonst? Sådana saker kan göra otroligt mycket för trädgårdens design, utan att man behöver ta hand om dem allt för mycket. Om man har ett riktigt stort intresse för kitsch trädgårdar så kan man dock fokusera på en blomma eller växt som behöver lite mer underhåll, både för syns och nöjes skull. Och dessutom, trädgården blir väl nästan aldrig klar om man inte vill att den ska bli det, utan det finns alltid något mer som man kan fixa!

Häck, stängsel eller staket?

Lite beroende på hur ens trädgård är utformad, behöver man någon slags inramning. I vissa trädgårdar fanns kanske häckväxter redan är planterade när man flyttar in, men för andra är det full insyn in till grannen eller ut mot gatan. Något som inte är så himla roligt. Som tur är finns det många olika vägar att gå i de flesta trädgårdarna, allt från att plantera en klassisk häck till att bygga staket med tillhörande grind. Så länge man planerar sitt val, så blir det inte bara något som håller nyfikna ögon borta, utan dessutom ett riktigt snyggt komplement till en redan underbart prunkande eklektisk trädgård.
