Reico Kitchen & BathDesigned by Nancy Knickerbocker of Reico Kitchen & Bath in Southern Pines, NC, this transitional blue and white finish kitchen design features Merillat Classic cabinets in the Marlin door style in 2 finishes. The perimeter cabinets feature the Nightfall finish, complemented by kitchen island cabinets in the Cotton finish.
The kitchen also includes Silestone Pietra quartz countertops, Whirlpool appliances, Kohler faucet and Kichler light fixtures. The tile backsplash features Happy Floors 3" Hexagon Alaska Glossy tile with Laticrete Raven grout.
Said Nancy, “The homeowners wanted something unique. The dark blue cabinetry and the hexagon backsplash are fun! The space is not large so removing a traditional table and adding an island opened the space, provided additional prep area and still allows for some seating. Storage improved by adding a small pantry with roll out shelves and incorporating a lazy susan. We met a couple of times in our showroom to select door style and finishes, but finalized the project through e-mail and phone calls.”

Nar Design GroupThe focus of this kitchen was to open up the workflow, creating a space for the family to work comfortably while also creating a beautiful and inspiring space. Placing a large refrigerator at the edge of the kitchen, adding a beverage refrigerator, using a Galley Workstation and having the island at a slightly lower height makes it highly functional for the whole family. It is rare to achieve a long line of symmetry, but with a feature wall created around the range top we were able to do so. We created an antique armoire feel with the panel ready refrigerator and custom panel design above.
A mixture of hardware was used, the gray stained hickory cabinets were paired with matte black hardware, while the designer white cabinets were paired with brass hardware. A very custom refrigerator cabinet was created that emphasized the armoire feel. A long wall of 9” deep tall cabinets created a very beautiful as well as highly functional pantry space.

Chic By Design, LLCThe lovely homeowners wanted to brighten up their original kitchen, that had brown stained wood cabinetry and brown granite countertops. While the tile backsplash was attractive, it was dated and they wanted a fresher, more open feel. The island had a bar height elevation which was cut down to counter height. We installed porcelain slabs for the backsplash that were carried throughout the kitchen. The cabinetry was extended to the ceiling, painted, and new countertops were installed. Tuxedo black trim was wrapped around the island to create a crisp, tailored, modern look.
