UserThis project entailed converting a 150-year church into a family home.
The right-hand wall of the kitchen is comprised of shallow pantries to achieve maximum storage with exceptional accessibility and centuate the height of the kitchen area.
In order to avoid cutting GPO’s and isolating switches into the Caesar Stone “Statuario Nuvo” splash back we constructed 50mm wide panels for cable voids and balanced these with 50mm fillers at each end of the cabinet run.
Low profile task lights and cables routed into the matching Lamiwood “Blackened Linewood” under panels are positioned forward for maximum light were required.
The selection of Colour Panel “New Stainless Steel” in a velour finish on the shallow pantries and broom sides of the kitchen gives a subtle end note to the more dramatic “Blackened Linewood” of the central cabinets and island. This also adds to the impactful balance achieved with the pendant and racked ceilings sky lights.
We have created a masterpiece of modern utilitarianism with a classic look befitting the rebirth of a grand old building.
Idesign Interiors (SW) LtdA sizable extension was added to the back of this familly home creating a large kitchen, dining zone for the family to enjoy and grow with.
Heavily textured slab style units in a black-gold-slate effect finish were selected taking full advantage of the natural light available from the wall to wall glass at the end of the extension. A brilliant white quartz worktop with a subtle vein contrast beautifully with the kitchen units.
A full compliment of integrated appliances, ovens and venting induction hob with plenty of storage including a cocktail unit with pocket doors, perfect for entertaining.
Lima KitchensThe conversion of this kitchen diner and utility in to an open single room is just breathtaking and so surprising being a period, rural property.
The introduction of this Scandi style kitchen has been carried out so sympathetically. Balancing the contemporary handleless styligh with brilliant white doors and surfaces oak trims and features softens what could otherwise be a very stark space. This attention to detail does not stop here with all internals behind the white units carrying the oak through to the internal units.
The use of this classic green paint nods to the period of the property without jarring against the contemporary styling, transitioning between old and new beautifully.
Planet FurnitureA light, bright open plan kitchen with ample space to dine, cook and store everything that needs to be tucked away.
As always, our bespoke kitchens are designed and built to suit lifestyle and family needs and this one is no exception. Plenty of island seating and really importantly, lots of room to move around it. Large cabinets and deep drawers for convenient storage plus accessible shelving for cook books and a wine fridge perfectly positioned for the cook! Look closely and you’ll see that the larder is shallow in depth. This was deliberately (and cleverly!) designed to accommodate a large beam behind the back of the cabinet, yet still allows this run of cabinets to look balanced.
We’re loving the distinctive brass handles by Armac Martin against the Hardwicke White paint colour on the cabinetry - along with the Hand Silvered Antiqued mirror splashback there’s plenty of up-to-the-minute design details which ensure this classic shaker is contemporary yes classic in equal measure.
Ream KitchensThe Brief
By building an extension to increase the size of the kitchen, gave our Clients scope to create an open plan kitchen and informal dining space. The mixture of high Gloss White & Black Remo cabinets gives an impressive streamline look with the contrast of the Black splashback and sleek appliances. The white quartz worktop with a Quooker Fusion Boiling tap, Blanco under-mounted sink and pop out electrical socket offers style with practicality.
Designer Tips
The focus of the kitchen is the large island in the centre which provides spacious worktop space and a table area for informal dining and socialising. The black and white Remo cabinets offer clean lines of white with sleek black cabinets and glass splashbacks. There is plenty of hidden storage solutions including two Le Mans corner systems, a pull-out larder and large deep pan drawers.
It was important that the room flowed and had storage for all our crockery, pans and small kitchen appliances, says Carolyn. One way this was achieved was through the use of colour and by using a consistent shade along all the splash back on the walls and contrasting this with the reflective white gloss on the cabinets and porcelain floor tiles.
During installation Ream’s in-house kitchen fitters turned the couples design into a reality. “The Ream fitters were exceptional, really knowledgeable and tidy. We are overjoyed with our new kitchen” it is beyond words and we thank everyone at Ream for creating our stunning new kitchen” explains Carolyn. “After years of waiting, the kitchen has now really become the heart of our home” says Keith.

This kitchen would be a dream for the majority of us and we are incredibly proud of this design to say the least.
The grand space features a white flat panel door style with quartzite countertops, and mitered waterfall edges on the island. A large stone wall behind the cook top, provides a breathtaking focal point, adding to opulence of the room.
You will also see one of the islands contains The Galley sink workstation. This workstation provides an incredible prep area that will ramp up your chef skills, making you more efficient and more stylish to boot.
Finally, we have incorporated a refrigerator and wall oven that is integrated into the cabinetry creating a flush finish that is easy to clean and even more beautiful to look at.

It’s the perfect example of classical design and craftsmanship effortlessly blended together to match the heritage of the Victorian-style property.
The beautiful HMK Classic In-Frame Shaker has really brought this room to life with the added cock beaded front frame and recessed plinths.
