Bottles appear to be floating as they are held up by this very contemporary wine rack using metal Rings suspended with aircraft tension cable. The columns anchor floor to ceiling allowing the wine closet effect to be enhanced by two glass doors and a mirrored wall feature behind the bottles.

The cooling unit was an RM Coil, traditionally mounted into the racks - but in this instance was recessed into the ceiling. The cooling unit and heat load calculation took into account that there were two large walls of glass here - knowing fully that there would be substantial heat loss through the large single panes on either end.
Within the room, beige stone accentuates the contemporary / modern look and matches stunningly with the color scheme and other design features in the surrounding rooms as well. Vintage CellarsDana Point, Orange County, California is home to many gorgeous custom wine cellars. This contemporary glass front wine wall is a beautiful example of just that. Located just off of the living room in this modern home, this custom wine wall exudes simplicity and elegance.
Vintage Cellars worked directly with this homeowner to design, build, and install a small wine wall with a glass front, metal wine racks, and stone backing - all the usual suspects for a trendy and artistic showpiece cellar.
Holding up to 180 bottles, this glass wine wall utilizes triple deep metal wine pegs drilled directly into the stone wall behind. The pegs hold each wine bottle horizontally so that bottles and their labels are on full display. Through the middle of the cellar, three stone platforms hold oversized bottles upright, though this is truly only a display feature. Serious wine connoisseurs always store their most prized wines horizontally, ensuring that corks remain wet and the bottles are able to be aged gracefully.
The Design Build team at Vintage Cellars decided that the best utilization of the space for cooling would be to recess the cooling unit directly into the ceiling. Especially in custom wine walls / custom wine cellars / custom wine rooms / custom wine closets / glass wine wall / glass wine cellar / glass wine room / modern wine room / modern wine cellar / modern wine walls like this where space is limited, it is often best to hide it out of sight. The glass here is single pane, which makes for a very clean and modern / contemporary look.
Even though it undoubtedly looks more elegant most of the time, we often recommend dual paned thermally insulated glass for maximum cooling capability and insulation capability.
The decor of this home matches its architecture perfectly. modern / contemporary / coastal chic. The combination of wood, stone, glass and the seamless transition inside to outside makes this coastal living home truly unique and quite the showpiece in of itself.

Design Connection, Inc.This temperature-controlled wine cellar can house over 1000 bottles. The custom cabinetry went through about 3 different versions between using a premanufactured cabinet vs designing and having a local cabinet company make it. Using the different styles of racks, X cabinets and grid styles of wine storage added to the beauty of this space. The custom table in the middle is for tastings and the back wall cabinet was designed to house all the tools needed for opening up a bottle and the shelves are used to display wine glasses and pictures of their travels. The natural look was used to help showcase the wine bottles as the labels added color.
