We were commissioned to transform a large run-down flat occupying the ground floor and basement of a grand house in Hampstead into a spectacular contemporary apartment. The property was originally built for a gentleman artist in the 1870s who installed various features including the gothic panelling and stained glass in the living room, acquired from a French church. Since its conversion into a boarding house soon after the First World War, and then flats in the 1960s, hardly any remedial work had been undertaken and the property was in a parlous state. This open-plan living and dining area balances functionality with a vertical timber slat screen that subtly divides the space. Soft neutral tones dominate the bouclé sofa, textured rug, and floor to ceiling curtains. Natural Blackbutt flooring and indoor plants introduce organic warmth, creating a cohesive design aesthetic.

Stunning Living Room embracing the dark colours on the walls which is Inchyra Blue by Farrow and Ball. A retreat from the open plan kitchen/diner/snug that provides an evening escape for the adults. Teal and Coral Pinks were used as accents as well as warm brass metals to keep the space inviting and cosy.

This lovely Victorian house in Battersea was tired and dated before we opened it up and reconfigured the layout. We added a full width extension with Crittal doors to create an open plan kitchen/diner/play area for the family, and added a handsome deVOL shaker kitchen.

Rough cut logs waiting to be thrown on the fire add natural texture that contrasts and compliments the plain flat surfaces of this contemporary home.
