The flat was stripped back to the bare bones; we removed the old flooring and installed full soundproofing throughout the apartment. I then laid a dark Wenge parquet flooring and kept the walls in a light off-white paint to keep the apartment light and airy.⁠⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⁠⠀ I decided to retain the original mouldings on the walls and paint the areas (walls, moulding and covings) in the same off-white colour.⁠⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⁠⠀ This apartment has a timeless elegance and remains one of my favourite projects to date.

The brief was simple: give it life. The floors were sanded, repaired, and lightened. The warmer white applied to the walls paired nicely with the brighter floors. The glass balustrade for the staircase was replaced by a hip-high built-in library. Both bathrooms, although not photographed, were completely overhauled. New cupboards in both the master bedroom and guest bedroom bracket their respective pop of color: teal for the built-in desk in the guest bedroom and oak veneer for the drawers and shelves in the master bedroom.

A contemporary home design for clients that featured south-facing balconies maximising the sea views, whilst also creating a blend of outdoor and indoor rooms. The spacious and light interior incorporates a central staircase with floating stairs and glazed balustrades. Revealed wood beams against the white contemporary interior, along with the wood burner, add traditional touches to the home, juxtaposing the old and the new. Photographs: Alison White

Pour ce projet 2 en 1, l'enjeu était de diviser un plateau de 75m2 pour y créer deux appartements de Type 2. J'ai accompagné les propriétaires sur la réflexion des plans, la conception 3D et le choix des matériaux et mobiliers. Ils se sont ensuite chargés de la rénovation , du suivi et de l'ameublement ! Un beau travail d'équipe et une belle réussite pour cet investissement locatif en plein coeur de Marseille !
