A refined balance of functionality and aesthetics, a highly practical layout and moody colour palate, is softened in conjunction with white space and visual harmonies, creating a kitchen which feels open, airy and unencumbered. This contemporary inframe shaker/slab cabinetry is painted in a deep navy from Farrow and Ball, contrasted by brushed nickel handles and knobs, and a textured white stone top with a full backsplash. As per the client’s brief, the design omits traditional wall units in favour of rows of floating shelving. The shelving’s limed oak echoes the exposed roof trusses above, while its warm downward lighting runs in parallel with the coving LEDs. This deliberate choice not only opens up sightlines above the base cabinetry, but also creates a visual connection that draws the eye upward—lifting the gaze into the vaulted ceiling and allowing the kitchen to feel lighter and more expansive. The final result is a kitchen that feels both grounded and expansive—that is as practical as it is visually uplifting. The interplay of rich tones, open sightlines, and bespoke details delivers a calm, elegant atmosphere with a strong sense of spatial harmony.
