Can I run run my spa jet pump through the hot water heater

While using the spa, I want to plumb my system so that the jet pump is passing through the heater which means the hot water would come out the 8 jets with the bubbler. Is there a downside to doing this?

    We have plumbed spas this way and with jet pump standalone. Ideally the jet pump is standalone, so that you get maximum velocity of water to the jets (heater and filter create resistance and head pressure). Additionally, the hot water coming directly from the heater to the jets can be unpleasant to some.
