Your ideas for exterior lighting? I am struggling!

We are close to the porch and siding going up on our renovation and our electrician wants to know where we want the lights to go. Any ideas for what light fixtures would be a good fit to left and right of front door and over the garage bays? I am including a sketch and a picture of progress.

    Most people put their porch lights next to or on either side of the front door. However, that tends to draw a lot of bugs during summer where I live. Consider putting your lights on the posts on either side of the steps to your porch. Another possibililty is to use ceiling fixtures further away from your door. These would light more of your porch. Or perhaps you could do a combination of post and ceiling lights.

    Don't forget lighting on the garage -- one above each door or use 3 - one on each of the panels that frame the doors. (I'd have these on a switch separate from the porch lights)

    Don't forget about low voltage lighting as well. Placing an up light below each of those pillars will give you a great look as well.
