Roof color suggestions

getting a new roof. Wondering which way to go with color. Any suggestions?

I like roofs that lean toward medium gray. They just seem to give more options with other color choices. Similar to this color...

Darker and less brown. Need not be as dark as pictured, just darker than the house.

I think you can take your photo to some of the roofing sites and try out colors on your roof.

It depends in part on where you live.

If summers are very hot there, I recommend the lightest color you can stand to lower attic heat load. This reduces your cost for air conditioning and (according to roofers I've talked to) lengthens the life of the roof.

If you're in the colder northern latitudes, dark is probably fine.

In between, it's a matter of your priorities.

I'm frugal, and care about cost more than style, so even though I'm in the midwest, all my houses (including rentals) have light colored roofs.

I would definitely go darker , a medium charcoal would be nice.

I would go darker too. Darker also doesnt show the staining you have on your existing roof. Darker brown would be my choice, although a darker charcoal, should look ok too.
