Need some help with the layout of the electrical outlets and hi hats in the ceiling.

Everywhere is 8' Ceiling except for the Formal Living room and Foyer which has vaulted ceiling up to 18' high.

Is this a new build already to lock up or just planning? 18' ceilings are just IMO plain silly they waste heating and cooling ,look wrong next to 8' ones, they distort sound and high hats in an 18' ceilig are completely useless they light down for a bout 8' the next 10 ft not so much. I use cable lighting for vaulted ceilings if my clients already have those ceilings.

Hi, yes it is an existing structure.

I have a 17' ceiling in my living room with recessed lights that I never turn on. I don't think it hurts to have them, maybe you'll use them more than I do, but you could probably cut back on the number of them. They're much more useful in the kitchen. Even in the dining room, I only have a chandelier and it is plenty of light. In bedrooms I like a center fixture and beside table lamps. Since you're remodeling, maybe you have always missed having these lights so you know you want them, but to me it looks like overkill. It's all going to cost money, so don't have them installed unless you really want them.

If this is a remodel, what do you mean you need help with electrical outlet placement? Who did the drawing, will there be an electrician involved? Do you have certain needs being generic outlet locations? Same questions for lighting in a remodel.

For the recessed lighting, what is the overriding concept you are going for? E.g., there will be no table lamps? You have no furniture, like a console to light up, or art wall or fireplace? You will have to specify exactly what and how the vaulted ceiling is oriented. Is it a vault (1 slope to a single point) or a cathedral (2 slopes symmetrical about a ridge)? And where do you have kitchen upper cabinets?
