Customizing projects
This client used to have a fireplace on this wall, but it got struck by lightening causing some damage. At that point, they decided the fireplace wasn't as important as having a larger TV for their family room and a place to display books and her collectibles. I designed the wall built-in to accommodate the new large flat screenTV and media equipment needed, concealing as much as possible and still enabling it to work. We used Alder wood and made the shelving adjustable to accommodate any way she wanted to set it up. Accent lighting was used in each section as well as ambient lighting used at the top of the unit. After the unit was built (which is the timing of this photo) slate looking porcelain tile in varying sizes was installed.
