MTK Design GroupBefore, the living room layout of this room blocked the fireplace, and the design was too dark and heavy for the homeowners tastes. Space planning a floor plan that enhanced the shape of the room and opening up the fireplace was key to the room’s best potential. Removing the heavy drapes and framing the windows with soft, soothing draperies also helped in brightening up the room. One of our favorite parts of the design was pulling out the homeowners’ old wing back recliners and giving them new life by re-upholstering them in a luscious ivory fabric.

Just the Thing Decorating, Staging, and WindowsBeauty and comfort were needed in this empty nester home! But at the same time, the pieces needed to be family friendly for grandchildren and pets. Swivel club chairs in a subtle plaid paired beautifully with the beautiful medallion pattern on the ottoman. The soft blue-green accents coordinated with the existing window treatments as well as the new, lighter window framing curtains.

AJ Margulis InteriorsThe clients bought a new construction house in Bay Head, NJ with an architectural style that was very traditional and quite formal, not beachy. For our design process I created the story that the house was owned by a successful ship captain who had traveled the world and brought back furniture and artifacts for his home. The furniture choices were mainly based on English style pieces and then we incorporated a lot of accessories from Asia and Africa. The only nod we really made to “beachy” style was to do some art with beach scenes and/or bathing beauties (original painting in the study) (vintage series of black and white photos of 1940’s bathing scenes, not shown) ,the pillow fabric in the family room has pictures of fish on it , the wallpaper in the study is actually sand dollars and we did a seagull wallpaper in the downstairs bath (not shown).

Jessica Dauray Interiors/Elements Of StyleThis living room is family friendly but made contemporary with the stacked stone fireplace that runs from floor to ceiling. We fulfilled the clients request for an easily maintained. The built in cabinetry allows for clutter to be hidden from view and provides a display area for personal items and colorful accents. The following items were used in the interior design of this new construction project.

Jennifer A. Emmer/Feng Shui StyleWe Feng Shui'ed and designed this cozy Family Room right off the kitchen in this 1930s Colonial in Winchester, MA.
We added this custom Navy built-in to house the client's antique clock collection. Coral accents repeat throughout the home bringing harmony and activating wealth. The black and blue in the room draw Helpful People and Travel to the residents.
The colorful Schumacher fabric ties the color scheme together. We kept the original beams and highlighted them with beadboard and star chandeliers.
Kevin Twitty InteriorsThe view from the kitchen out is one of my favorite in the house. This really shows you just hoe open this space is. It was a fun challenge to make such an open space feel cozy and homey.
