Amber Freda Garden DesignThe rustic ranch look of knotty cedar fencing gets a contemporary twist in our design of this Chelsea rooftop garden. This fencing gives some much needed privacy from a common roof, while the black and tan pergola casts a bit of welcome shade for seating on a sunny south-facing roof. Additional design elements include artificial turf, contemporary outdoor furniture, black fiberglass planters, and geometric custom lattices. When we first saw this roof garden’s existing pavers, they were very weathered and benefited greatly from a power washing to help clean and brighten them up, which made them look brand new again. Native Edge LandscapeThis project is another example of how to maximize small spaces. This customer’s small Brentwood yard was centered around their new plunge pool. However, the existing pavers and layout left much to be desired. We reworked the pavers to create usable spaces and clean lines, and a vines and lighting work with the custom pergola to increase the privacy and add a soft vertical element to encourage the intimate feel of the space. Two other structures block the pool equipment and AC compressor from sight. This reduces the visual weight of these areas and allows the eye to focus on the crown jewel of the space… the pool.
Harrington PorterOverhaul of a large family garden with a contemporary feel - spacious and simple, keeping the space for kids to play sports, trampoline and use their styled playhouse. But with areas extending from the house for adult/family entertaining. A firepit, outdoor "bar area", feature dining area and floating bench with weather proof fabrics. Low maintenance materials - Millboard decking, artificial grass, painted trellis and powder coated pendant light supports, in a cohesive pallet of colours.

UserThe goal of this landscape design and build project was to create a simple patio using peastone with a granite cobble edging. The patio sits adjacent to the residence and is bordered by lawn, vegetable garden beds, and a cairn rock water feature. Designed and built by Skyline Landscapes, LLC.
SCJ Studio Landscape ArchitectureIn Seattle's Fremont neighborhood SCJ Studio designed a new landscape to surround and set off a contemporary home by Coates Design Architects. The narrow spaces around the tall home needed structure and organization, and a thoughtful approach to layout and space programming. A concrete patio was installed with a Paloform Bento gas fire feature surrounded by lush, northwest planting. A horizontal board cedar fence provides privacy from the street and creates the cozy feeling of an outdoor room among the trees. LED low-voltage lighting by Kichler Lighting adds night-time warmth .
