Charlotte Candillier InteriorsUrban Cape was commissioned by our client to assist with the build of a new basement in their existing home in Battersea.
The brief was to create and design the joinery for a bespoke bar, media unit and wine unit, along with the lighting design and selection of the finishes for the basement and powder room.
The client wanted the interior to exude an aesthetic of drama and sophistication. Being a quite large cavernous area, it was important to incorporate a design that would help to create a sense of warmth and balance the space. The room was planned with a multi-purpose function in mind. Being used for both a children’s play area and alluring entertaining area, the design needed to be versatile and hard wearing whilst still offering a bit of glamour.
Leather was selected for durability, elegance, versatility and timeless aesthetic. Should the client wish to change the style or the furniture in the future, the joinery will continue to blend luxuriously into a contemporary environment or considerably enhance the classic appeal of a residence that is more traditional.
A palate of warm walnut timbers, rich chocolate brown and warm grey shades were chosen. Exquisite dark chocolate leather doors were hand crafted in South Africa for the Bar and Media units. Teaming a large shiny croc print with soft plain leather, walnut veneer and a dark Emperador marble from Spain, the units offer the luxury of a natural product whilst bringing about an absolutely stunning and inimitable look to be enjoyed for years to come!
Architectural Plastics, Inc.Our Architectural Digest featured acrylic wine cellar. This cellar was comprised of three alcoves that were backlit and filled with our Luma Series acrylic wine racks.
We created a stacked wine rack layout that allowed for a metal counter top between the racks. Acrylic drawers with invisible stops were added for bulk wine storage.

Vinomagna Wine CellarsThis luxury wine storage display was an alternative option for what was in this case, going to be a kitchen pantry. Overall this is a luxurious, bright showpiece that is within what was only a 4m2 footprint. The joinery finish in this display is a sprayed off-white finish therefore giving the space a more open feel. Floor to ceiling double glazing within a black aluminium door frame that ensures an airtight seal. The large center opening door has a custom door handle that sits directly on the glass. The overhead bulkhead has a reflective mirrored acrylic cladding finish. This conceals the refrigeration cooling system sat behind the air diffuser grill.
Sprayed moisture-resistant joinery
The internal core of the timber is a moisture-resistant fibreboard. This luxury wine storage comes down to an internal temperature of 6°C. Under those circumstances, the joinery longevity is essential in the cold and damp environment. Eventually, natural untreated timber will contract and deform in a cold and damp wine cellar.
With this in mind, the selected paint finish is also fortified with a waterproofing lacquer to further prevent ingress water.
Versa HomesThis "Palatial Villa" is an architectural statement, amidst a sprawling country setting. An elegant, modern revival of the Spanish Tudor style, the high-contrast white stucco and black details pop against the natural backdrop.
Round and segmental arches lend an air of European antiquity, and fenestrations are placed providently, to capture picturesque views for the occupants. Massive glass sliding doors and modern high-performance, low-e windows, bathe the interior with natural light and at the same time increase efficiency, with the highest-rated air-leakage and water-penetration resistance.
Inside, the lofty ceilings, rustic beam detailing, and wide-open floor-plan inspire a vast feel. Patterned repetition of dark wood and iron elements unify the interior design, creating a dynamic contrast with the white, plaster faux-finish walls.
A high-efficiency furnace, heat pump, heated floors, and Control 4 automated environmental controls ensure occupant comfort and safety. The kitchen, wine cellar, and adjoining great room flow naturally into an outdoor entertainment area. A private gym and his-and-hers offices round out a long list of luxury amenities.
With thoughtful design and the highest quality craftsmanship in every detail, Palatial Villa stands out as a gleaming jewel, set amongst charming countryside environs.
