Here, Carly Nemtean and Lauren Poetker of Carriage Lane Design-Build put a laundry station behind sliding pocket doors and added fun wallpaper, a folding countertop and rods for hanging and drying clothes.

Laundry Rooms 27. Compact laundry stations. Don’t think you need a full-on dedicated room for doing laundry. Many designers have created super-efficient laundry areas in spaces the size of a hallway closet. Here, designer Janie Hungerford tucked a laundry station into a closet-size nook of custom millwork in a light oak stain. It includes dog-print wallpaper (Best in Show by Osborne & Little), graphite-colored appliances, a hanging rod and an ironing board on the door.

It’s always fashionable. Black and white is a popular combination for several reasons. It can look great at any budget level, and it always carries an air of fashion. A space as mundane as a laundry room can be elevated by including some simple black-and-white stripes. It’s a graphic look that speaks to high-end fashion labels while being livable for your day-to-day life.

Will be nice to have a small washer dryer like this in the basement bathroom

Maximum Functionality This laundry room is thoughtfully packed with function thanks to a cabinet arrangement by Vixon Custom Cabinetry. There’s room for the sink, an overhead rod, a drying rack and maxed-out storage all around it that can hold cleaning supplies, linens and pantry items. Houzzers commented the most on the drying rack — it was a big hit. Takeaway: Consider combining the functions of a linen closet and a laundry room. When these two usually tiny spaces are together, it makes for a larger, more functional space.

The designers of this laundry room in painted the cabinets and a floating shelf in a serene baby blue. The room also includes wallpaper with brass-colored snowflakes that coordinate with the brass faucet, cabinet hardware and light fixture.

Bevy of Blues This Los Angeles laundry room designed by Noelle Parks of Noelle Interiors features lacquered cabinets in a bold blue that pairs well with the blue-and-white encaustic cement floor tiles.

coolest feature: the tilt-out hamper cabinet with metal grilles on its doors, in the foreground on the left. Takeaway: Incorporate a hanging rod in the laundry room. Even in a relatively small closet laundry, there’s often room over the machines for a hanging rack or rod.

Q

Foto

Takeaway: By incorporating a laundry room into a multipurpose room, you gain a lot of breathing room that makes the chore more enjoyable.

Create a counter atop front loading machines for folding & sorting. Also can make cabinets colorful and attractive with gold knobs contrasting with light blue / green cabinets
