A 30-inch sink has a built-in cutting board and strainer, making it an extra work space. "The bigger the sink, the better," he says. "And I've never liked two compartments — use tubs and strainers if you want to compartmentalize the sink. The sink should be able to fit the oven racks, exhaust hood filters, and refrigerator shelves for cleaning."

9. Ah, the wall mounted pivoting arm option. At least this one is tiny and inconspicuous. Since there are no wall cabinets in this sleek kitchen, it works well with the overall design.
1. Treat the TV as an appliance. When the TV is treated as one appliance among many on a wall, it almost becomes invisible. I love the idea of an appliance wall anyway. It just makes sense as compared to having them spread out all over the kitchen. None of these particular appliances are main tasking ones, so it's fine for them to be outside the main work triangle.

"Heat from the stove hasn't been a problem so far, and there's no humidity to speak of in Arizona — so I can't really speak to how they'd hold up expanding and contracting in high humidity areas." The photos were put up first (tile or other artwork would also look great), and the cork was arranged around the frames.
Consider a kitchen banquette. You may not think your kitchen has enough room to be an eat-in kitchen, but you might just have the space to build a bench under a window and pull up a long, narrow table. Choose chairs for the other side that can tuck in underneath tightly so that when the table is not in use they are out of the way.
Here's a great idea if there's an appliance or pipes obstructing the area needed for a full drawer or cupboard. Use just a sliver instead to hold mail and paperwork that can otherwise clutter a kitchen island.
