I'm starting to get partial to a wood counter. IF they can make it strong & resistant enough, might it open up some options?

Q

Foto

these knobs on the stove in the craftsman drawer kitchen?

Q

Foto

Nice, nice setup--go down the line.

Q

one thing about a side by side: no matter how you do it, the door opens the wrong way...

Dont use this! Get a magnet rack: Love my drawers that hold pots and pans, plastics, and weird sized things like popover tins. Do not like the knife drawer or the kitchen utensil drawer idea. When I am cooking i can't predict which knife or spoon I will need and don't want the interruption of opening and closing a drawer for those particular items. The magnet on the wall works great for knives, and it was an idea I got from houzz.

Create extra prep space. This small San Francisco kitchen was in desperate need of extra prep space. The solution: a custom rolling cutting board and base cabinet that can be pulled out should the sous-chef need some extra elbow room. Hmmm... this or a pull-out at the table end of the counter, into the kitchen?

GOOD TO KNOW! Make your faucet a soaker. I was wary of a soaker hose’s high profile poking up above our breakfast bar, but my husband talked me into it. And boy, am I glad he did! It blasts water off dirty dishes, cools pasta in no time flat and ensures that every corner of our sink is sparkling clean.

The Brown Studio Save Email 4. Will I ever use a warming drawer? Does the sun rise in the east? Yes, you will use a warming drawer! You’ll use it to warm plates before serving family-style sides. You’ll use it to keep the kids’ omelets hot when they take forever to shower in the morning. BUT- a good microwave with a "keep warm" functionis just as good.

Excellent!

Deep cabinet organizer. This pullout pantry organizer, paired with cabinet door racks, is a favorite for 70,000 users. "Many of our clients don't have room for a walk-in pantry," says Rhoda Fry, CFO at Bill Fry Construction. "Having storage on the doors and inside keeps everything organized and within easy reach."

11. Open shelves. This look is one of the most popular trends on Houzz, and 28,000 love this kitchen in particular. These stainless steel shelves can display decorative accessories or store daily dishes

Q

14. Pullout shelves. Saved to more than 18,000 ideabooks, this pullout shelf provides easy access to pots and pans. This system works great for reaching those back corners in deep cabinets: The front tray pulls out vertically and allows the back tray to slide over to the right.

A food-wrap divider can simply slip inside an existing kitchen drawer. If you're designing a new space, consider working with your cabinetry designer to get a custom version for one of your drawers.

Or, a vertical slit for the ultrathin model, next tothe cookie sheets?

Having a spot where you can sweep away waste and compost as you go is a huge part of keeping counters tidy, and built-in bins sure look better than my stash of plastic bags from Target.

Baskets on the end of an island could conceal stacks of folded towels, recipe binders and miscellaneous tools.

4. Oils and spice niche. A wall's depth — about 3 to 4 inches — is rarely used. Create a niche for everyday oils, spices and other cooking necessities. It will help you take advantage of every square inch your kitchen offers.

Q

Nice mix of white & stainless?

Appliance garages: one thing they all seem to have in common is the seamless transition from inside the garage to the counter--same surface. Another thought is that the door should swing or get way out of the way, easily, w/o blocking anything else. Best way so far is in this picture--up and hidden away, one motion.

Q

Foto

Kind of nice (ignore the diding rm)?

Q

Foto

Kind of minimal, but maybe the grey is nice?

Q

Cool backlit pictures?
