Wow - we have all that space in our porch awning but only using it for wood. As of 4/2016 - we took out kitchen wood stove so no more wood on porch. Is that a heat light? Roof is pretty vs our gray painted plywood.

Fire pit with real landscaping! For south side of house

Fire pit, rectangular lighting - just cool. This would probably be John's style if we ever built down south.

I just like the idea that you have a big pretty opening framing something pretty that's also pretty in the yard - straight out of our deck door (that we have moved) we are right across from a span of deck railing that could be opened up for a couple of shallow stairs down.

succulents are so popular right now :} - again, not practical.

A little wall hides a lot and puts an end to the area - R (south) side of house. Probably use Reid's rock though I like the more natural huge rounded rock garden look with plantings in it (sounds like work but prettier).

Ahhhh I need to move to California

I've got lots of post on my deck - should I plan a bench around them? We need a bench by the hot tub.

We aren't being practical here - it's just beautiful

Nice fire pit with natural rock seating

Would strengthen look of our narrow post if base were bigger

Don't actually want a fire pit on my deck because then would have to have wood handy. Maybe a propane fire pit or a heat lamp or both. We have to be practical - even in the summer it can be cold on a deck in southeast AK

Note - We have some old bricks and have used them around our trees and around the planters at the shop.

Q

Firepit patio for north lawn? - we currently have stepping stones to the shop so this would follow that idea.
