This is gorgeous. The plants will never work in Norse way of course.. - but the modern clean lines are beautiful - however this will be completely out of sync with the front facade of house and the neighborhood - how to solve?
I guess this is one way you marry - more modern lines inside with the mountain facade of the house.
This is too spread out but nice in its design. It is more traditional feeling - but if you take away the white arbor perhaps its neutral enough? The pavers could work and I like the kitchen - and what is that counter top? It could work for Norse way.
I like the simplicity of this and that its close together and intimate.
I don't love the orange pillows but the sense of enclosure here with the standard string of bulbs overhead is very attractive.
This is everything I don't like. Expansive, non-intimate, wire furniture spread about without a purpose.

I like this stone! Its really sharp!
This is an example of what I don't want. It feels open, sprawling, the spaces are not connected. While every part on its own is nice this just doesn't do it for me. I think its the lack of boundaries on the side or overhead. I may be able to get away without anything overhead beyond hanging Edison bulbs - but will need trees etc to create boundries.
I really like the feeling of this patio. I like the stone, I like the functionality of it, I like the intimateness of the space and I like the lighting. This is a gorgeous setting. No arbor works because of fence.
I like the combo of concrete with break lines in square pattern and then concrete tiles surrounded by grass
