This is cool and shiny. Consider shallow cabs on GR side, or wall with basement entrance. Good buffet substitute with shiny butcher block top. Upper cabs with glass very attractive.

Completed on a small budget: upper and lower perimeter cabinets, sink and countertops are all from IKEA. The vintage schoolhouse pendant lights over the island were an eBay score, and the pendant over the sink is from Restoration Hardware, BAKERY letters are custom, vintage metal stools & accessories are antique store finds. The refrigerator was a DIY project compiled of nothing more than a circa 1970 fridge, beadboard, moulding, and some fencing hardware found at a local hardware store. Different approach...fully leverage pantry wall, put doors out to back from kitchen (or dining table in GR) and put exit to side porch/mud room in new DR.
