I love how open shelves look, but only if they are decorative or purely functional. As Hans says, our dishes aren't nice enough to display and that isn't going to change anytime soon. Also don't want lots of knick knacks getting dusty. I do like open shelves for a few decorative items and plants! Or if there is a spot where you can grab things quickly and easily while prepping/cooking, and it doesn't look to cluttery.

There's a lot I like about this, but I think I'm over a white kitchen... though this still looks warm even though there's lots of white.

There is so much I love about this, but I think it would very easily look untidy and messy. We do better with something that helps us be tidy.

This kitchen feels warm and cozy. I like that, but the island base it too dark. Also, just say "no" to marble countertops.

I like the layout - food storage --> prep area --> cooking area --> clean up area. Love that. I hate extra steps or inefficient layouts.

I like the mixtures of colors and that it looks clean but not cold.

I like the swap between counter and cabinet surfaces for the island.
