Tom and Sue Lujan are amazing designers. Their design process included finding out what I wanted and what my taste was, and then they presented me with a design that transformed my old 1960s kitchen and master bath into functional and beautiful spaces. The whole design process was a discussion about what I wanted, what I could afford and what worked in terms of design and materials. Their knowledge of how space could best be used, the pros and cons of specific design decisions and what materials are available and appropriate is impressive. The final result reflects cutting edge design, top quality materials and spaces that truly reflect my own taste. My friends who have seen the finished product all rave about it. I also had Tom and Sue supervise my renovation and I am so glad that I did. They brought in a superb contractor who meticulously carried out their plans and was a responsive communicator as the inevitable issues and extra decisions came up (there were some serious plumbing issues that were unknown until walls were torn out). At all times I was made to feel an active partner in this process whose voice was heard. I now have much more space (both open space and storage space) than before and it is simply a pleasure to work in my kitchen. Everything is so much easier to do now. One of the goals was to make both spaces accessible so that I could age in place and this is what I have now. It's a pleasure to get up every morning and be in these new spaces. Our house was a HUGE project. It is a 1950's, 5000 sqft mid-century home that was in dire need of an update. Tom and Susan Lujan of Aesthetic Interiors were terrific. They work as a creative team with their clients, assisting them in all the steps needed to design the house of their dreams. First they interviewed us to get a clear idea of what was important to my husband and I for our desired renovation, then they designed a detailed 3 dimensional computer model of our renovation. The first design was so impressive! (We had had 2 architects give us ideas before Susan and Tom came into the picture, and they didn't come close to what we wanted!) It was such a collaborative process. They were happy to tweak this or that in the model they came up with. For example, we realized that we needed the pantry here instead of there, etc. They truly want to help clients create such beauty and utility in their homes and happily work to meet your home needs! They have been in the design business for decades and have a list of trusted providers that all do a great job. The contractor they chose for us - Brandon was especially capable, as he transformed our rundown 60-year-old home into a show piece! Tom and Susan assisted us in every step of the way: Picking out appliances, counter tops, cabinets, floors, tile, furniture, window treatments and bedspreads! They have EXCELLENT taste and collaborated with us every step of the way. They even helped place our art! My husband and I felt cared for, guided and protected throughout the project. The results were AMAZING! We LOVE, love, love our GORGEOUS home! We walk around and are just so grateful and fortunate that the Lujans were at our side during this entire process. Aesthetics Interiors remodeled our kitchen and two bathrooms. We have been impressed with Tom and Sue from the beginning of our project. They are professional in all aspects of the work. We communicated from a far which was easy since they were on top of every detail. They handled the decisons that came up in a quick and clear manner. Sue & Tom were instrumental in ensuring all of our interior colors, styles, designs and finishes complimented each other. They were easy to work with, good communicators and are continuing to help us even after we moved in.

We engaged Tom and Sue to help us remodel our kitchen and add a built in buffet to our dining room. The goals for the project were to create more space and to make the kitchen more efficient. Those goals were achieved and then some. Tom and Sue were creative in their design, listened carefully to us, worked closely with the construction team, were honest, and fair in the pricing. There were some glitches (e.g., covid in a couple of the teams engaged to do some of the work) that caused delays but these could not be controlled by them. We are delighted with the results. All of the “kitchen equipment” and food we stored in our hall pantry (the linen closet) and garage now fit in the kitchen and buffet with space to spare. The best feedback came for our son who said, “This kitchen not only looks good, it feels good.” We would not hesitate to work with Tom and Sue again.

After we lived in our home for 8 or 9 months we knew we wanted to make some changes. Being new to the area we didn't know any contractors or subs so we decided to start an internet search for a designer. This proved much easier than we had anticipated based on ratings of decorators in the area and our past experience working with a decorator. We knew we wanted someone who had been in the area for several years, had working relationships with several subcontractors and had references we could check. Tom and Sue replied promptly and we identified our projects and a timeframe and cost for each. Our project involved a major bathroom remodel, removal and redesign of cabinets in the bar and kitchen, removal of built in cabinetry in the living room involving wall and floor work, and purchase of new living room and dining room furniture (and refinishing a hutch to match) plus new island stools. Everyone that worked on our project was well qualified, friendly and completed their work within the time specified. We would use any of them again! Throughout the project Tom and Sue were readily available and were fun to be around. We would highly recommend them and will use them again for future projects.

Sue and Tom are terrific! I highly recommend them. They are very professional, extremely talented, personable and easy to work with. They communicate very well. After our initial meeting, they developed a very detailed design plan for the spaces we were working on. They provided lots of visuals to help us understand what they were suggesting. They brought over many samples of flooring and fabrics and helped us choose. They are extremely knowledgeable about the products they recommend. They brought many books with furniture choices and listened to our wants and needs and worked to satisfy our vision. They helped us in choosing the paint color as well as updating lighting in the guest bedroom and halls. They laid out a timeline for the work and explained it thoroughly for us. They kept in touch and delivered what they promised. When the crew came to begin the work, we were a little worried about the disruption of having people working in the house. However, those fears were quickly allayed by the professionalism and competence of the crew. Brandon, crew chief, was fabulous. He is extremely knowledgeable, professional and helpful. All the crew members were respectful, professional, helpful and cleaned up their work area each evening before leaving. They made the project come alive and were quick to answer our questions or make suggestions. We enjoyed working with them tremendously! Once the work was completed, all we needed was the ordered furniture to arrive. When it did, another crew delivered it with Sue there to oversee things. This crew also did a fabulous job. They were professional and respectful and really knew their stuff! From laying the pad and the rug to moving the heavy furniture an inch this way or that, they were not satisfied until it looked perfect to all of us. Much appreciated! In this most recent example, we had spent way too much money picking out color samples for house trim. We couldn't agree on anything and had patches of color all over our exterior walls trying to find the perfect color combo for trim. Aesthetics Interiors came in and picked two very complimentary colors that make our brick look great and really pull the house together. I enjoy looking out my windows at the paint and it turned out exactly how we wanted it to look.

My husband and I are young professionals and we built our first home through a national builder. We love the floor plan and knew we wanted to create a cohesive look throughout, but we were feeling overwhelmed by the open concept kitchen/living/dining area. We started working with Tom and Sue right as we were moving into our new home. We couldn't have asked for a better team to help us through the process. They quickly realized the style we're aiming for even though we didn't know the name for it (transitional) and they've helped us with paint colors, kitchen backsplash, lighting fixtures, furniture, area rugs, and artwork for our living space. We've used Susan and Tom for two large projects in the past 9 years: a bath remodel, then a living room and office redesign. Moving to the Tucson area from Florida in February 2016, our project was to remodel a 16 year old home we purchased that had a beautiful mountain view but needed updating and correction of disfunctional features. We gutted the master bath, kitchen and laundry room, corrected sources of water damage, replaced most windows, window treatments, furniture and decor. Tom and Sue made the two month project enjoyable and the project started and ended right on schedule. Their contractors were excellent and very helpful throughout the project. Tom and Sue were on site frequently and every time there was a decision or choice to make.. When unexpected things came up, they knew who to call and were with us all the way through even when items were outside the scope of the project. Their cost estimates were accurate and there were no surprises once we had agreed on amount to spend and work to be done. We are completely satisfied with our remodel and thank Tom and Sue for all their help and guidance.

We feel extremely fortunate to have met and partnered with Sue and Tom Lujan (aka Aesthetics Interiors) on our recent home renovations. We have never done this before so we weren’t sure what we were heading into… From our first encounter with them to explain the problem we were trying to solve, we had a very good feeling. First of all, when they visited our home to learn about what we wanted to do, they were clearly interested in learning our style and preferences. In contrast to some others interviewed for the job, Sue and Tom asked questions and listened. Second, they did not hesitate to share some reactions and ideas even before we engaged in a formal commitment. We sensed their understanding of our lifestyle and true interest in our project and that proved to be the case throughout the work, start to finish. Sue and Tom are a terrific duo. Each brings a unique perspective to the job and their skills are quite complementary. Between the two of them, we felt we had great design input as well as underlining engineering considerations. For example, we wanted to convert a kitchen nook area to a place that could serve as a mobile office when needed. Tom came up with a great solution to manage all of our electronics and maintain a clean design. Sue teed up color and material options to connect this new space to our adjacent recently renovated kitchen. The end result was absolutely gorgeous. They also came up with a great solution to an oversized great room — allocating the space between a comfortable lounging area and a fun game table space. Once again, the solutions they proposed fit our style and we couldn’t be happier with the result. When it comes to execution, Tom and Sue connected us with top contractors. The general contractors were excellent, as well as the tile guys, wood floor guys, cabinet guys, window treatment guys and painters. We’d use any of them again. Any issue (and there weren’t many), we let Tom and Sue know and it was immediately addressed. We just knew that Tom and Sue were checking in behind the scenes — a sign of their commitment to the success of the job. Now that the big work has been completed, they have been extremely helpful in thinking through accessories and bringing out our style. Their suggestions have hit the mark. We highly recommend Sue and Tom!

I have seen Tom & Susan designs and their completed projects are always beautiful. I just recently hired them to help me with paint selections for my new home. Susan eye for color is just fabulous. What a joy to work with them both!

Upon a recommendation from a friend, we contacted Susan Lujan about assisting us with making the small spaces of our home function more optimally for the way we were going to be living during the next several years. She graciously requested if it would be ok to contact us after the holiday season. Promptly thereafter we received the call, scheduled an initial meeting and the rest was history. We instantly loved Sue, her energy, the creative spark, and immediate suggestions about rearranging furniture and updating some of the look in our kitchen and bath area. Long story short, our small project grew into a multi-year master plan of sorts that included patio furniture, living-family room furniture, a kitchen island metal wrap, paint, glass tile backsplash, slate countertops, a copper sink, window blinds, bar stools, a floor rug, bedroom paint and bedding, the powder room / son's bathroom update, and more. Her husband and partner, Tom, was also very involved over time with creative solutions to various questions and with a number of color choices. His talents and skills become evident over time, if quietly. Her business partner and her assistant also played key roles in product and paint selection. My wife and I had a number of particular preferences and ideas going into this project. Sue and Tom were quick to pick up on these and filtered their own thoughts to our perspective and convinced us about changing our minds in a couple of appropriate areas. There was always much energy and plenty of fun throughout the time. From a business and customer service side, they were prompt with calls, orders, answering questions, appointments (always on time or early) and never left us wondering about the process. They initially presented us with a large array of options but quickly helped us narrow it down to no more than three choices from which to make a decision. Sometimes price was the difference; more often than not, it was color or material not price. This was particularly helpful when we found the decision process difficult because we liked all of the options. Upon receiving furniture and materials they checked for any breakage and made sure installation was completed appropriately. In one instance a piece was damaged. This was immediately remedied with the shipment of a replacement. Their subs and vendors were courteous, prompt, professional, creative and skilled during all of our interactions and their installations. There were at least two instances where Sue visited local retail stores with us to respond to our likes, direct or re-direct our choices, and confirm eventual selection by us. She exhibited professional collegial interaction with these other individuals, who were also potentially competing with her. After the bulk of the work was completed, Susan and Tom spent one morning rearranging our furniture and artwork. When we saw the "finished product" we could do nothing but smile. Our home was inviting, comfortable, beautiful and even felt bigger. There were many improved visual lines that focused attention on the color, the artwork and the spaces. Every person who has come into our home in the years since the projects were completed has commented about how lovely our home looks. The Lujans are great people. We consider them our friends. Whether a person, family or business is remodeling a room, rearranging furniture and belongings, or designing a complete interior (and more) for a new build, it would be our pleasure to recommend them to anyone. We chose Tom & Susan Lujan/Aesthetics Interiors for our recent kitchen and bath remodel because we remained thrilled with the beauty, quality of materials and workmanship from our 2008 experience whence we gutted our master bath and transitioned nearly all flooring to wood. For starters, I had a strong concept of the ambiance I wished t live within and created a "scrapbook" incorporating my colors and goals. By Feb. 2015, and much overdue in attending to a kitchen and guest bath remodel, I exclusively sought out Tom and Susan. They were immediately attentive to my needs and tastes, anticipating me on specifics and suggesting upgrades with which I was unfamiliar. So attuned were they to my home and style, I was able to make near instant and ideal decisions on sample materials presented in the initial meetings. Tom and Susan are the most amicable design professionals one could hope for throughout what can be a very stressful process. They maintained daily oversight of our project, the quality of materials, and the scheduling of the many highly skilled subcontractors. Our project remained on schedule and we are extremely proud of a timeless and beautiful outcome.

When purchased a home in Oro valley Arizona and it required several changes. We asked neighbors for references of interior designers and received aesthetics interiors information. Sue Lujan came over and we discussed all the things that needed immediate attention. She and her husband Tom put together a proposal and completed the first wave of improvements post haste. Not only was I thrilled with the results of their work but Susan Lujan also became a friend in the process...which made the entire project go incredibly smoothly and non stressful! I've worked with Susan over the last 10 years and she has been outstanding with both my high end and mid range clientele. Some clients who are out of state have entrusted her with their entire home allowing her to design and furnish all from trust in her ability and photos. This takes an abundant amount of trust. She is creative and innovative with her style and can work with any budget to make a home look stunning. As a Real Estate professional I am extremely careful with whom I put in front of my clients and Susan has been my Interior Designer of choice. It was clear from the first meeting with Tom and Sue that we were on the same page. They listened carefully to what I wanted and got on board right away. They have an excellent knowledge of all of the suppliers and were able to show me the items that fit with my vision of the house. Tom and Sue are AMAZING to work with. I had been working with another designer that just kept screwing things up and making mistakes and I felt like nothing got accomplished. Tom and Sue came to my rescue and within a couple of weeks had made a portfolio, had samples of fabrics, drawings, and pictures.. They have a talent for picking up on your taste and rolling with it. Aesthetics Interiors with Susan, Tom, and Sandy did an incredible job on our house and transformed it into exactly what we wanted. The team was responsive, creative and very flexible. They helped us achieve what we wanted and came up with creative ideas for items that we were attached to but did not necessarily match the look we were looking for. They paid great attention to every single detail including things like new frames for art work that we already owned and were attached to so it would work with the completely different new design plans we wanted. My wife and I retained the services of Aesthetics Interiors a couple years ago to renovate the bathrooms in our historic home in Tucson, Arizona. Having seen the work that Aesthetics Interiors had done on my parents home, I knew that they were who I would like to work with for my own projects. Tom and Sue have an incredible eye for design. They were even able to help me remotely. They live in Arizona and I'm in Chicago. I simply sent in some pictures of our bedroom and they were able to send back pictures of what they had in mind. They ordered items for me and we had painters here paint their suggestions. Sue and Tom are the most knowledgeable, well rounded, detail-oriented designers we could possibly have chosen. I have used Aesthetics Interiors on several occasions with amazing results. The most recent job was a master bath/dressing area renovation. The shower was changed to a walk in shower, all with beautiful tile work. The vanity/dressing area now features 2 sinks,old medicine cabinet removed and replaced with a tower cabinet between the sinks, custom made with shelving, electricity all hidden by a louvered door. Tile work finished the cabinet area. New lighting was also added. I cannot praise this company enough for its professionalism and timely completion. My bathroom area always brings complements to anyone who sees it. I would highly recommend them.

My project was to improve the furniture and general appearance of the great room in our 7 year old home. I called Aesthethics Interiors because I had seen their work in a friends' home. Sue and Tom came to my home for a consultation. The project included sofas recovered, new tables, new lamp and rugs, as well as changing some furniture for better look and flow. They were full of ideas, but always included my input. The tables were for a specific area and had to be designed and built. Every aspect of the project was on time. Their tradesmen are the cream of the crop. Redecorating was a fun and good experience.
