Frye Remodeling

My wife worked with Carl Frye to lead a complete update of our 25-year-old house. This included a complete kitchen redesign, a complete redesign of the master bath, a full hall bath, and a ½ bath. This process included removal of a load bearing wall in the kitchen. Through careful planning and some suggestions from Carl, we could repurpose most the kitchen cabinets which had been part of a kitchen redesign years earlier, and the cabinets were still in stock so that we could add to original. We also altered the kitchen window which offers much more light than before, and added recessed lights though the kitchen. The changes required that the plumbing throughout the house needed to be replaced/altered, but this was expected considering the remake. Carl was also able to nearly completely hide/reduce a soffit in the kitchen, that contained drainage pipes from the upstairs, which opened the kitchen even further. Carl enlarged several interior doorways, and added transoms above several doorways. He oversaw the installation of hardwood floors to replace carpeted areas, and the final product was seamless matching the new stairway and integrating with areas that had been hardwood previously. The stairway had to be updated to meet current Code, and this update provided added safety, and was visually impressive. Carl’s costs estimates were met throughout the project, allowing for unforeseen issues that can come up during a house remodel (e.g., water damaged flooring in bathroom). We also had all ceilings removed of the popcorn spray and full interior and exterior painting (by a separate group). Since we lived in the house throughout the process, it can be challenging to live without a kitchen and with only one working bath at a time. But this was explained before we began and Carl worked to accommodate our needs. While a large 5-month process will never go perfectly, the end result was just as we imagined and our family and friends comment on how the house is transformed. I would use Frye Remodeling again and I recommend Carl to others.

We used Frye Remodeling to completely remodel three full bathrooms and a laundry room. Carl handled this enormous job with the utmost of professionalism, organization, patience, and a welcome sense of humor! We really appreciated his upfront, fair quotes of all the work ahead of time. He was always willing to make adjustments when necessary. All of his subcontractors were qualified, professional, polite, and left everything very clean. Carl was very responsive to our questions or concerns and handled issues that came up for us (ie., orders from Build.com that didn't come in correctly). We highly recommend Carl and his crew for any remodeling project. He remodeled our kitchen and two bathrooms, including windows and doors and his work was excellent. Carl is flexible, courteous, professional and had great communication throughout our extensive project. It was a joy to work with Carl and his staff on our covered screen porch to den conversion. He was very professional, open and honest in terms of costs and timelines, and stayed in communication with us every step of the way, letting us know where we were, what was next, if/when timelines had to change to accommodate unforeseen issues, etc. When unforeseen obstacles or issues arose, he worked hard with us to make changes to stay within our budget and keep us within a reasonable timeline. I would definitely work with his company again!

I have worked with Carl on several jobs. He is very creative and vision driven and can do anything that you want done. He's really easy to work with and takes the customers wants and needs into account on every aspect of the design and execution. You can't go wrong with hiring him to do your next remodel!!
