9H Builders is a full service design / build firm located in Seattle, WA. Initially established in 2000 as a small design studio, we have since expanded our custom cabinet shop and construction services to serve architects and builders. Our integrated approach to design and construction builds upon over twenty-five years of design studio research and project management experience. In each project, we isolate the necessary technical, aesthetic and programmatic requirements of the client, while developing an affordable, simple and engaging solution. Our projects are the result of an open dialogue leading to the discovery of something new and original that exceeds our client's expectations. We look forward to discussing your project. Both my husband and I work, and we have children. Between soccer games/practices, music lessons, etc. the thought of a remodel was daunting for us. We met Chris Lewis and in a few short meetings we were sold. He had great ideas, he listened to us, and he was always professional. He earned our trust and we relinquished a lot of control. We picked out all our colors, materials and appliances in one afternoon with our whole family sitting around the kitchen table. It has been a fabulous experience for us in comparison to multiple friends who have told us stories of having to mediate the relationships between their architects and contractors. We were able to build a relationship with Chris and he managed the entire project. We love our new kitchen and will use Chris in the future.

Lewis + Smith handled the remodel on my townhouse in Eastlake, and I couldn't have been more pleased with the way it turned out. Plus, they were a pleasure to work with along with way. Honest and conscientious to a fault. I can't tell you how many times I sat on my front porch with the door open, and people would stop by to see "the stairs." The design was inspired and their workmanship and attention to detail was excellent. I have been very happy to recommend their work to friends, and I would definitely hire them again.

Chris Lewis just completed the construction of a new home we designed and he has completed smaller projects for my own home as well. In all cases I was delighted with the results. As architects, we are often concerned that the contractor's expectations for quality will fall below ours and this is especially true when the budget is tight. In many cases, Chris' expectations not only met but exceeded ours given the budget limitations. We look forward to building more projects with Lewis + Smith.
