With years of experience and passion for design, friends turned colleagues Duncan Cox & Chris McCabe followed their dreams and established their building design practice. Located in Currimundi, QLD, DCM Building Design is a design practice specialising in delivering bespoke design solutions for residential new homes, knockdown/rebuilds and large scale renovations and commercial projects across the Sunshine Coast and Southeast Queensland. DCM Building Design has developed a reputation for design excellence and client focused designs for which have received numerous awards. Usually recommended by past clients and builders, we are also known for delivering a seamless concept to collaboration to construction to completion. Seeing a project move through the design stages, taking a clients brief and turning it into something they can envisage themselves living in, is the reason we love what we do. We cannot fault our experience with Duncan and the DCM team and highly recommend them to anyone in need of design services! We approached them to assist us with designing a new duplex development on our awkwardly shaped block. From the initial contact and all the way through to the development approval, Duncan and the team were incredible. Duncan’s professionalism, attention to detail, knowledge and great attitude made the whole process really easy. We were blown away with the design right from the concept plans and are extremely happy with the end design. We cannot wait to progress to the construction stage. We are very grateful to Duncan and the DCM team for all of their hard work and look forward to working with them again.

The Team at DCM Building Design always exceed our expectations on every project we work together on. They deliver each project on time and take a leadership approach to each project helping coordinate all stakeholders to make the design and approval process on each project seamless.

Chris was excellent to deal with and always got back to us in a timely manner. Upon looking at other newly built houses on the same size block in our area we appreciated how well Chris made the most out of the small land we built on. Compared to the other houses designs in our area, they did not even come close to what Chris done to ours. I would like to thank Chris and team for a great job and making our house unique. I highly recommend Chris and Team.

We engaged Duncan (DCM) to develop the designs and plans for our home renovation project. He listened to what we were trying to achieve and was very knowledgeable about what could (and couldn’t) be done. The consultation and revision process worked well and the resulting plans were of a very high standard. We have been very satisfied with the results.

We approached Duncan to draw up plans for a 4 unit development. Neither of us had experience in developing any type of property and so relied heavily on Duncan. We were able to provide a basic idea of what we would like. Duncan really listened and was incredibly patient, calm and professional as he put our ideas on paper. The design combined what we had requested as well as Duncan’s own ideas. We were very impressed. Duncan always made himself available to provide assistance and clarifications during the initial council building applications. This was an extremely stressful time for us but one that Duncan handled with calm and ease. We are very grateful for his invaluable help. Our unit development is now in place and we are extremely happy with the final result. We have had many compliments praising the design and overall look of the development. Should we decide to undertake another project we would not hesitate to contact Duncan again.

Chris displayed a skill set of being highly professional and listed to our brief in the design of 30 apartments. The outcome was a design that suited our budget and enabled a first tier builder to price the project accurately with very little design changes. Chris's detail in the delivery stage has been both friendly, professional and approachable. We will continue to engage DCM as our preferred professionals.

Chris has recently designed our new build, a two storey split level Hamptons inspired home. He got it pretty spot on the first time and we absolutely love the design. He has been a pleasure to deal with and the line of communication was always open. Nothing was a problem for him and he was always prompt in getting back to me with updates or any questions I threw at him. I can't wait to start the build and see the design come to fruition. I would not hesitate to recommend Chris at DCM and will certainly use him again if I ever get to build or renovate again. Thanks so much Chris.
