Alison Playford When the decision was made to downsize and renovate and extend an old cottage that I owned in the city I had many visions of what I wanted to create. I ran these past Glen Duncan and was pleased to find a builder who was happy to 'look outside the square'. The design of the project was a team effort and between us all we ended up with a compact, efficient, original and quirky city dwelling. Duncan Constructions were happy to accommodate my unconventional requests and contributed some great suggestions too which have added to the uniqueness of the house. The workmanship was of a high standard despite the tight budget. Renovating and extending for the first time was stressful but John, Glen and Andy eased my passage through it all; nothing was too much trouble and communication always open. The whole project came in almost on budget and was completed on time. When I look around my 'urban haven' I am delighted with what we have created.

Duncan Constructions were recommended by a very satisfied previous customer of theirs. Glen Duncan assisted and advised from the time of the house purchase and was present at the building inspection. Faults and repair options were able to be discussed and agreed immediately. Glen had significant input at the design stage of our renovation project and arranged for all drawings, engineering calculations and planning approval. Much of the internal works - removing walls, moving doors, window replacement and redecorating - were carried out whilst my wife and I were overseas for several months. This meant that the house was ready for occupation upon our return. The external works, which included building a new bedroom and ensuite over the garage, moving air conditioning units, replacing half the roof and enclosing balconies at the front of the house were carried out whilst we were in occupation. All trades were carried out to the highest standards and all of Duncan Constructions' workmen and contractors were a pleasure to have around. My wife and I would be very happy to recommend Duncan Constructions to anyone seeking a high quality job at a very fair price.

We utilised the professional services of Duncan Constructions to firstly install a lift in our two story home, repair water damaged walls and then for a bedroom extension. We were very happy with their service and excellent workers so much so we recommended them to neighbours either side of our home who also utilised their building services.

Duncan Constructions certainly CAN when others can’t. We had been searching for a builder for a couple of years with little luck. A friend recommended Duncan Constructions and that was the beginning of a fabulous journey for the renovation of our home. We rang Glen Duncan and he came around that week to our home and spent 2 hours going over the plans we had suggesting design improvements and making greater use of existing space. It was at that moment that we realised if we had gone to Glen in the beginning, we would not have spent so much on an architect. We recommend before you have any plans drawn up to contact Glen Duncan as he is truly a visionary man and can provide wonderful and exciting ideas before you begin the renovation journey and as well as a ball park cost figure to construct. We commenced the renovation journey with Duncan Constructions over 12 months ago and Glen was able to incorporate us remaining in our home whilst the renovation took place - what a bonus! All the tradespeople who came into our home were respectful of our home and mindful that we were still living there. We have heard stories of how stressful other people have found the renovation experience but our experience was anything but. We would come home of an evening and just walk around admiring what our house was becoming – it was a very exciting journey. All through the build, Glen and his team were in constant contact with us and making suggestions for amendment as the build progressed to improve it. We have ended up with the most beautiful house and one which we give full credit to Glen on not only the finished product but that it was also built within budget. We quite often say that when we commenced, we had no idea that our house which was once the ugly duckling on the street, would end up looking as magnificent as it does. We highly recommend Duncan Constructions from the beginning through to the end.
