GW remodeled and expanded our bathroom with great success. Working with Matt was impressive. His communications with us and his contractors was exceptional and on a daily basis. The work quality and finished product is all that we had hoped for and even above our expectations. We are very satisfied and look forward to more of their work on future projects.

the project was a kitchen refresh, cabinets, counter tops and floors. From the 1st phone call they were very responsive. Big Matt was present everyday to check progress. They estimated 3 weeks and was able to complete in 3 1/2 weeks as there was a gas line relocation required due to the age of the house. GW took care of it and made sure it was moved by a licensed professional plumber. The counter top installer was meticulous in ensuring the patterns matched and took great care. I am very happy with the transformation. I am enjoying my new kitchen.

Matt with GW Construction recently did an addition to our house that I am incredibly pleased with! They remodeled both my bedroom and my bathroom, and we are very thrilled about it. They reconstructed an amazing closet system that allows for the ultimate use of my closet space, and my bathroom feels like a resort styled spa! I loved the suggestions that Matt gave to me throughout the design process, as he really incorporated all my needs and offered great overall design choices. I had such a great experience as their customer, and I highly recommend this company to anyone looking to fulfill any remodeling or construction needs!

GW helped us build an additional dwelling unit in the backyard of my parents house. I can't afford to buy a new house on my own and this was a great alternative. Matt was very professional and took my ideas and preferences into account while we were working on the project. I'm so happy with the results, and even though I'm in my parents backyard it feels like I'm living in the house of my dreams. And that's all thanks to Matt and his team!

Do yourself a favor and look for someone else. We did a major renovation with GW and I could write a whole book about that unfortunate experience and everything that was done wrong there, but I will spare you the details and just say - you really don't want to go there. They deliver a very good sales pitch, but unfortunately, any resemblance between what they promise and what you will end up with, when the work is done, is entirely coincidental.

My wife and I highly recommend GW construction and our experience was wonderful from start to finish. We got several bids to add a 350 sq ft master suite (bedroom, bathroom, walk-in closet) to our home in Bay Park. After meeting with several contractors, we decided to go with Matt from GW. He was extremely communicative throughout the entire project via text, phone calls, or in person. Gary, the owner, came by often to ensure the work was up to his high standards. We passed every inspection the first time. The final product is absolutely fantastic, our house feels great, and we are very very happy to have gone with GW construction. The pictures do not do the work justice and we'd be happy to personally show anyone that would like a visual reference.

I just wrapped up spending 2+ months with the GW Construction team. Never having done a remodel or hired a contractor before, I initially thought I would have one company remove a wall between my living room/dining room and another remodel our kitchen, another do windows/doors, floors etc., but I ended up having the GW folks do all of the remodel projects on my home. Matt and Jody are amazing and their crews' work speaks for itself. In the span of just over 2 months, we had a load-bearing wall removed, a full kitchen remodel including removing old wood paneling and putting up new drywall, new floors, new windows and doors and a new bathroom (which we hadn't planned on doing but it unfortunately created and emergency situation that required immediate attention during our remodel). Matt ensured the work was done to the highest standard and Jody was great with communication during our project and made sure we were consulted on every decision. She also has a great eye for design and was extremely helpful in bouncing ideas of of. Everything turned out just beautifully and we are now living in our dream home!

Fantastic team at GW Construction! We were a bit nervous selecting a new contractor after a terrible experience with our previous one, but Matt and Jody made us immediately comfortable from the time they stepped into our house, and listened to our requirements and our concerns. Their advice and experience was also very valuable to us when having to make decisions across different options. Our project mostly consisted of windows replacement and expansion of our dining area with French Doors to a new patio, including built-in shelving and cabinets around the front window in our living room. We talked to them about a couple more projects as well, and Matt was very helpful when he broke down the quotes as we wanted to see them with the various build options we were considering. All along the process the best part with them, besides being very easy to get along with, was full transparency and clear communication, which is not always common based on our past experiences. The candor was mutual, and they were sure to be addressing our concerns extremely promptly. I cannot say enough great things about the team who did the work, in particular Gonzalo who had great attention to detail and who made sure we were happy with the results. Note that they also take very good care of the work areas and cleanliness is a priority. I will definitely recommend GW Construction to our friends and in our neighborhood. We have a couple more projects in mind which we already discussed with them, and I will not even think about selecting another contractor.

I can't say enough about Matt and the folks at GW. We had a very sticky situation where code enforcement was called on us just a few weeks after moving into a new house. I'm not exaggerating when I say that Matt stepped in and saved the day. He walked us through what the process looked like moving forward and even went to the city with us...and didn't charge us! There was no high pressure sales tactics or concern that this wasn't a big, high dollar job. We could have still gone with a different company even at that point, but I couldn't imagine finding someone more trustworthy and genuinely invested in us personally. With their deep knowledge of the inner workings of government planning and permitting, you know that the work is being done right and above board. If you're looking for someone you can trust to do high quality work, I'd highly, highly recommend GW.

I found this company on houzz based upon reviews. Unfortunately, we did not have a good experience. Sorry so long but it is important to me that you know how bad this experience was. It started with them laying down underlayment under our flooring without my approval and when it wasn’t necessary. The project manager Jody, made me feel like I was being difficult and their manager Matt also kept saying I was difficult, he often would say things to my husband behind my back. Who does that? Who calls your own spouse to say bad things about your wife? Completely an unprofessional experience. If it were not for the guys doing the actual work such as Raul, Jesus, Jose and Anthony I would not have bared through the project. At the last minute the company owner refused to install shiplap around our fireplace (which was the easiest part of our project). He said he was not comfortable. Matt credited us $500 but we also originally were bidded on wood tile to be installed, we then opted for luxury vinyl plank which is less labor, materials and time and much easier to install. There was no credit for this or for the mantel they were supposed to install. They also left huge holes in the wall after fireplace demo and he refused to patch it. After telling him they left screws and holes in the wall he still said I was putting wood over it anyway. I told him my handyman who I had to hire to finish their job had to patch the holes first before we installed shiplap and I would deduct the cost from my final check. He said he would credit me $75. When we explained it was part of his contract anyway to do the fireplace tile, his job was incomplete. After Matt yelled at my husband he finally sent Raul to finish and patch the holes. They started demo on our house while we went out of town for a few days. Regarding the underlayment, they tried to tell me we had moisture under our original flooring. They never took pictures and when I got home the exposed floors that supposedly had moisture were dry. If there was serious enough moisture for you to say we needed underlayment, how do you know there wasn’t a leak somewhere? I was treated badly because I questionned why they made the decision without waiting an hour for me to land from our trip. They also would text us saying they were coming over, but we were not home as we had to keep our kids out so they could finish flooring. We didnt have access to the kitchen so we had to eat out. I had asked to please next time give us some notice or set up a time so we can assure we are there. Again, I was treated like I was being difficult. They then said well we need to pick up a check. This was not addressed initially in text conversations. I also gave them an extra $2000 plus $1000 deposit before work started. Matt would yell constantly at us on the phone. He is a very loud and dominating person and he also yelled at my husband and my husband never yells, but he really upset him also. You will not be treated with true customer service unless you pay them money and not question anything. We wanted to just end it and we would hire another person to finish. He threatened that we would be in breach of contract. They make you feel as if everything is your fault. They also sent a cleaning crew our house was not finished. This was because this was part of our contract. Matt kept saying it was a courtesy. The cleaning crew did NOT clean anything, I am not even sure what they did when they were here except push dirt around. I ended up cleaning everything myself as I told him we just wanted to be done. Matt never apologized for his behavior. I have worked with many contractors before and have never dealt with anyone so unprofessional in my life. I have never experienced anything like this. My husband and I were shocked. Everyone we have ever worked with we have had great relationships with. Jesus did a great job on the flooring. There are so many touch ups that they never did. There were gaps between the trim and the new floor that they filled with putty. I didn’t say anything because we just wanted to be done with Matt. Towards the end there was no communication. I was communicating with the subs. They only get the one star because of their subs who were here every day, and we never had issues with them.

Due to a family emergency medical issue it was necessary to remodel a bathroom on an aggressive schedule. Michael and his GW Construction team stepped up to the challenge and completed the bathtub to fully tiled walk-in shower conversion in just over a week. Not only did they convert the tub, but they also replaced the vanity counter top, sink and faucet, and the toilet. This was all done in spite of a one day delay waiting for the plumbing inspector. Everyone on the team was courteous and completely professional. They all worked diligently and paid careful attention to details. At the end of each day, they thoroughly cleaned up the area, minimizing dirt and dust. The project cost was comparable to other estimates we received. We decided to hire GW Construction because of Michael's positive attitude to addressing the time challenge, while being totally up front about the risks of meeting the tight schedule. In the end, they met it perfectly. The resultant shower (and entire bath) turned out beautifully. My wife and I are both extremely pleased with the results. We would not hesitate to recommend GW Construction to other people wanting to do a remodel. We will definitely call them again when we need another remodel.
