inSite Contemplative Design

Working with Rebekah of inSite Contemplative Design was an incredibly worthwhile and rewarding experience for me. I have never worked with a designer before, and I am happy my first experience was stellar. I am a new business owner, running an evidence-based strength training facility in Emeryville, CA. My protocol demands concentration, so I needed to provide a welcoming and calming environment to allow my clients to deeply focus on working intensely. Rebekah not only did a lot of research into my line of work and unique modality, she signed up to go through a session to get a better understanding of my approach, teaching style, and my work. Her deep understanding, artistic eye, and years of experience allowed her to make incredibly informed and thoughtful decisions when selecting carpet colors, artwork, paint, and furnishings. She is a great communicator, timely, fairly priced, and an incredibly thoughtful human being. A common first impression response for my clients seeing my facility are along the lines of, "THIS PLACE IS BEAUTIFUL!" "WOW" - - jaws often drop. If you get an opportunity to work with Rebekah, I highly recommend it. It was an investment I am happy I made, and it has truly made a positive impact on my ability to focus and give my clients a higher level of service, which in turn allows them to get better results - becoming stronger and healthier so they can show up fully present and share their gifts & passions with the world. It was a fun process, and a gift that will continue to give for years to come.

I tried many ways and many times over the past 15 years to make my home office a comfortable place that gave a good vibe even in the most stressful of times. My little ideas of where to put things, how to display things.... it would last a little while and then I needed to change again because I couldn't get things to flow in the workspace. I learned about inSite Contemplative Design at a business networking group. Rebekah Younger presented before and after photos of rooms and homes that she had redesigned. She explained how she takes the time to sit and talk with the client and learn how they work, live, and what they feel is missing in the space. I invited her to my home office and I am happy to say that her professionalism and attention to detail was top-notch. She listened to our needs and concerns and we are so happy with the results. In a recent move, my husband and I purchased a home that met both of our basic goals in a home. Unfortunately I could not arrange my new home in a manner that "felt good" to me. As my frustration began to mount, I stumbled onto Rebekah Younger's website, inSite Contemplative Design. After one phone call, Rebekah met with me and took great care to tease out what I liked and didn't like about the home and discern what was important to both myself and my husband as well as the budget we were working with. She sifted through the special items that made the move with us and was able to bring these into our new space in a way that seemed to fit perfectly, as though they were met to be there. Also she was able to track down some harder to find pieces to tie our home together. Rebekah painstakingly sifted through colors to find the best matches that both highlighted the natural beauty of our environment and the warmth we both desired to bring into in our new home. The results have been amazing. The flow of the energy in this space has improved dramatically. I am much happier, comfortable and content in my new home! I cannot thank her enough!

My husband and I had our home designed and built almost 20 years ago. The living room has always been a challenge to decorate and arrange furniture in, with a sloped ceiling, odd shape and lots of windows. Now that all the kids have left home I was ready to make some changes to make the living room feel more balanced, warmer and comfortable. I had always tried to fill the open space in the high ceiling with plants and tall furniture hoping that it would make the room feel bigger. Becky worked with us to balance and ground the room and made the space a wonderful retreat for the two of us on a daily basis, as well as an inviting and comfortable room to entertain in. The colors she picked for paint, flooring and furnishings are spot on and thoughtfully coordinated in terms of our lifestyle, preferences and our furniture. She was invaluable in helping us declutter and simplify the room and she was able to show us what her ideas and the colors would look like on her iPad. More than a decorator, Becky is an artist and her artistic talent showed as she arranged our objects, plants and furniture and helped us pick out flooring, rugs, window treatments and pillows. We are thrilled with the new look and serene feel of our living room and are so grateful to Becky for really making the whole process fun for all of us.

Ms Younger designed and executed the transformation of my office space. I am a physician in a large multispecialty group. My private office is not for patients but more a place for me to work on charts interpreting tests and an occasional meeting. I realized that I spent more waking hours in that office than I spent at home and wanted it to be pleasant. Becky took great pains to get to know me, my passions and hobbies. She took care to understand my budget. She then designed a space that was uniquely mine. I am a scientist and have trouble believing anything I can't quantify so when Becky spoke of energy and such things, I was skeptical, but didn't much care since I just wanted it to look nice. The result was beautiful (looked nice. . . my goal), and came in under budget. The surprising thing though is that I somehow started working more efficiently. I got more done in less time and in a better mood. Coincidence?, who knows. . . . but it happened. For me, a man of science, to admit that the transformation of my space resulted in a transformation of my work, . . well, that's an admission. I think highly of the work Becky did and could not recommend her services more highly. The money spent will be recouped in short time by more work, or a lighter heart or whatever. . . . trust me on this.

Rebekah Younger of InSite Contemplative Design worked with me over a period of 6 months to uplift my apartment. I had no experience with thinking through an approach for an integrated living-space, and Rebekah took hours to talk with me about my interests and wishes, as well as spending contemplative time in my apartment. She has been especially helpful in choosing colors that communicate both restfulness and energy; as well as furniture arrangements, suggestions for new pieces to purchase, and decorative highlights including window treatments (maximizing light and privacy), and picture shelves. My entryway feels like a glimpse of my life, and I am inspired every day to keep my place neat and spotless! I feel proud of my living space in a way I never have before--love showing it off to friends. Now, if I could just find the perfect rug....
