Manotick Kitchen and Bath

We hired Manotick kitchen and bath after our neighbor recommended them to us. Bailey was our contact person, and who directed us and suggested many things that could be done in our kitchen as well they replaced the flooring pretty well throughout the main floor. We had a galley kitchen so there wasn't much movement that we could do. Bailey had suggested that we close off an entry way to our living room that we didn't really need, as well as making the kitchen entrance way larger. Bailey listened attentively to all that I wanted in my dream kitchen and boy did he deliver. We worked with their designer Deborah who was patient with us and suggested many things that we would not have thought of. They went above and beyond working with us, discussing things that we had concerns about. Should there be any issues, they were on top of it immediately. I would highly recommend Manotick kitchen and bath to do any renovations that you were considering, they treat you like they are family and are very concerned of your thoughts.

We used MKB to totally renovate our kitchen and also do one bathroom and one powder room. The project started during COVID times and knowing that we knew that there would be delays because of that. MKB managed to keep the project moving when they were allowed to in between restrictions. And as with any project, there would be hiccups. A company should be evaluated as to how they handle these hiccups and MKB were excellent as addressing our concerns and providing advice when required. We would highly recommend using MKB for your kitchen and bathroom renovations!!

Manotick Kitchen and Bath completed a stunning ensuite bathroom transformation for us and we couldn’t be happier with the end result. From the moment we met Mike we knew that we had found the company for us. Everyone we dealt with was friendly and professional and took the time and care needed to complete the job to the highest standards. The project had a few hiccups along the way, but Mike, Bailey and the team addressed everything promptly and to our complete satisfaction. And they were very accommodating and good natured about all the changes we requested along the way! Completing a project during Covid presented unique challenges, but we always felt safe with the protocols they had in place. We would not hesitate to contact MKB for our next renovation project or to recommend them to our friends and family.

We would give MKB a first class rating. From initial pricing and proposal thru to all of the finishing touches, MKB was professional and did everything with an impeccable attention to detail. Having Domenic in charge made the entire process seamless, even though our home was gutted and rebuilt during COVID. Domenic's ideas and suggestions gave our entire kitchen a uniqueness that is not generally found in many remodels. At the same time, we never felt we were being "upsold". When we made a major change, they were fair with pricing. We would not hesitate for a moment if we had to do it all over again.

We hired MKB to remodel our kitchen last fall. They started right after Thanksgiving and promised to finish before Christmas and they did. Their contract was clear, reasonable and there were no surprise charges at the end of the job. I really enjoyed working with their designer Dee who was very personable, provided me with great ideas and sample, and really helped me to design the kitchen I envisioned. We felt comfortable with Dominic and his crew - they were very professional and respectful working in our home every day. Dominic did a great job to keep the project on track despite a couple of issues with suppliers. Six months after the remodel was complete, I emailed MKB about a couple of doors which were not working optimally - Dominic promptly came out and replaced the mechanisms. We love everything about our new kitchen and would not hesitate to contact MKB about future remodels.

We connected with MKB at the fall home show in Ottawa. They promptly communicated and did an estimate within a week. There quote was competitive. We felt comfortable dealing with Mike. The designer, Dee was very warm. The onsite crew doing the project were respectful of us, our home and cleaned up at the end of every day. Damien Ladd and his partner Hossein did a great job with our ensuite bathroom. It's our pleasure to recommend them.

The process from the planning to finish was done professionally. We were provided with a designer who came to our home with a wide selections of tiles to choose for our bathroom and offer to bring additional samples if required. The contractors who did the bathroom renovation were excellent and they were meticulous with the details of the job. Thank you MKB for providing us with the bathroom that we envisioned and more.

We hired Manotick Kitchen and bath to do several projects in our home. We had them do the master bathroom, and a second bathroom, as well as the biggest transformation for us our kitchen. In that process we also hired them to do the powder room, the laundry room floor and repaint it, and to install our hardwood flooring on the main floor. The master bathroom was a complete gutt and changing things around. They were very good at offering suggestions to the layout, listening to what we wanted, and finally came up with a great design that we love. We got rid of a soaker tub, and had a very large shower with a seat installed, as well as a vanity. Corner shelves were installed for us as well. The 2nd bathroom was a little easier as we didn't change the layout or anything but everything was still replaced. The powder room was same thing just replacing everything. It was a bit challenging to find a vanity that would fit, however they guided us to places that we could go, and websites that could be searched to find just the right vanity. The kitchen was the biggest challenge for us, and them working with us to find the best layout possible. We actually took down a wall (as we had a formal living room and dining room). We have got rid of the formal living room and now have one big kitchen that we still have an eating area, we gained an island and have a peninsula, and instead of the formal living room we have that as a dining room. Mike listened to what I/We wanted for the kitchen, came up with some designs and after a few discussion the planned was formed. We are so happy with the layout, that we wished we could have done this years ago. We had a few hiccups along the way, that made things go a little slower than we expected but everyone was very accommodating and we both worked together to get this job done as fast as possible cause of them During this process we asked them to throw in changing the laundry room floor and giving it a paint job. Without hesitation it was thrown into the mix. As well as getting them to rip out our old carpet and install hardwood flooring throughout part of the house, All this again was thrown into the mix and worked into the renovation without hesitation. Manotick Kitchen and bath has great employees working for them. If they see something they think might be a good thing they suggest it. They are very presentable, clean up well after themselves, are always there to answer questions and keep you calm. They offer places to go to see samples of products you could be using. They offer a reasonable price on your renovations not going overboard, but are willing to do whatever you want to make yourself happy, just knowing that this might be an extra cost. They offer solutions or suggestions for things so that you will be happy. For example I was tired of having blind cabinets in my kitchen which couldn't be used, I was told you most likely have to have one, but there's a compromise solution to that, you can get a peanut system installed. Yes it cost a bit more money, but boy do I love that peanut system. I would recommend Mike and his team from Manotick Kitchen bath. I would give them a score out of 4.5 out of 5. I have told Mike that in my eyes no one can be that perfect to get a 5.

Job- Large bathroom to powder room and ensuite bathroom. Time frame- February 6- to July 4th. Cost- approx. $45000- paid in full 1) No designer as contracted- so no help with the following •Medicine cabinet- one attempt- no further help •Plumbing – selecting shower, faucets, finish and ordering, to this date is not as we ordered. Wrong items ordered, parts not ordered for completion •Placement of lighting- one light in a bad place •Placement of toilets to close to walls, - recessed toilet paper rolls only choice to use. •Selection of tile, grout colors- no help •Selection of schluter edge, which we have two different colors, because of our lack of knowledge making these choices- again no assistance •Selection of top for shower seat and half wall- with existing granite- told to shop around granite places •Where do you want the towel racks? I don’t know, where do you usually put them? •Selection of vanity for powder room- on our own. No help. •Layout of the bathrooms was provided by us. 2)Work •Promised time line- no timeline or schedule ever given to us over the 5 months- workers would show up a day here a day there. •No person in charge on site. No consistent workers. We had different people different times throughout the 5 month period. •Exiting vanity was used as work station- with drywall mud on it at times, granite not covered. •New toilets tanks were used to rinse rags, leaving a film over all the new toilet workings. •Tile cutting in garage (due to inclimate weather-) no attempt to seal off garage, dust over vehicles and surfaces all over garage. •Dry wall and painting work was poor- finally after 5 months there is something that is tolerable. •5 to 6 people tried their hand at painting. No tape used for cutting edges. Finish on ceilings- difficulty matching existing ceiling- 3)Finished product •We have two bathrooms- working( after 5months) •We have one crooked wall, that was promised fixed- because it was not, our tile is out of alignment •Shower seat is also out of alignment with glass shower enclosure •We have two different colors of schluter edge- and a poorly finished back edge schluter edge on the half wall- that I see every time I look in the mirror as it is reflected. •Plumbing is still not as I ordered – we are waiting for the shower valve we wanted- September 26. •Toilet in powder room is in the dark as light placement is over the shoulder •Drywall on one wall has a banana curve to it. •Oak threshold poorly stained to match •On budget- yes. •This is my third try to get a review on Houzz

This was my first experience with Manotick Kitchen and Bath and they were very attentive and quite helpful the entire time. The project involved completely renovating the kitchen. It was a big deal to me and so, they made it feel like it was a big deal to them as well. I had Ashley, the designer assigned to me and she was wonderful and very helpful. Demean was the project manager and he made sure he was always available. I especially appreciated that he took me seriously. He really listened to what I was saying and asking and I know he really heard me. Everyone was very collaborative throughout the project and the lines of communication were always open. The pricing was consistent with other quotes. the owner Mike, was also very helpful throughout the whole project. He was always available when we needed to discuss something. It was a very large project and it was completed successfully.

Almost done with MB renovation, shower glass will be installed next week, then some Artwork and then done ; 4 weeks,Start to Finish , key to success was we knew what we wanted, we found the best contractor with best ideas, advice and price and we only picked top line products . Very important also is that our contractor had high quality tradesmen! Tilers, electrical, painting,plumbing, roughing in properly. Great project team.
