We hired Andy, Landscape architect, and Poul’s Landscaping to landscape our new home we just built. Andy did an awesome designing and the Poul’s crew did a wonderful job putting in our landscape for our new home. The design looks amazing, and we can’t wait to see how it will look as it matures. I would highly recommend using Poul’s for your landscaping needs!!

I just bought a house in Gurnee over the summer and I wanted a better sight line for my dogs and additional lighting in my backyard. I also needed work on my brick patio as it was sinking. Rick came out to look at the current landscaping and worked with me to come up with a great plan. I couldn’t be more pleased. John, the project foreman was great to work with and kept me updated. I don’t remember the name of other gentleman who worked with John but he was so conscientious about redoing the patio. Can’t wait until we tackle the rest of the yard. I highly recommend them.

We recently had Poul's help us plan additional landscaping at our home. Rick worked with us to not only conceal an unpleasant view of a cable box in the corner of our yard, but he also suggested specimens that would attract birds and butterflies, one of our interests. Our yard looks beautiful, and we look forward to adding additional plantings next spring. We are so impressed with Poul's service and care to detail. We would not hesitate to recommend Poul's Landscaping & Nursery.

Terrific experience! We interviewed several different landscaping companies for help with our hardscape project. Poul's, and specifically Andrew, was by far the easiest to work with. Not only did they come in with a competitive bid, but spent a great deal of time with us up front, before we even had a contract, helping us figure out exactly what we wanted. During the project the project managers were on site and on task, handling any issues that arose quickly and efficiently. Even after completion when we had an issue with the filling between some of the pavers, they came back quickly and resolved the problem. I highly recommend them and would absolutely use them again.

We are so happy we chose Poul's to rejuvenate our landscape. This is a first class firm from start to finish. We had the good fortune to work with Rick Ramoser, a landscape designer, with an abundance of creativity, knowledge and patience. He developed a landscape plan with lots of visual interest, colors, textures and appeal in all the seasons. We can't thank him enough! The installation crew was great, always asking us about the positioning of tress, shrubs, etc before planting. They worked extremely hard and did a thorough clean-up. Dan Poul, the owner, came out for the final inspection and provided us with watering and landscape maintenance instructions. We are satisfied customers and highly recommend this firm!

I have been a customer of Poul's for over 7 years. I trust them 100% for the care and trimming of my trees and I have over 30+ trees on my property. If I ever need to remove or replace a tree, I always consult with them to make sure the new tree will be suited for my soil, light as well as visual benefit. I have also purchased all my replacement trees from them and only had issue with one tree. They replaced it and did so without any issues. Their staff is knowledgeable, friendly and dependable and I highly recommend them.

They've been in business more than 50 years, which is a testament to their excellent reputation, integrity and expertise. Whether you are looking for a landscape design, gorgeous plants, tree care or landscape maintenance, this is a company you'll want to work with, for numerous reasons. Here are just a few: 1. They do what they say they are going to do. You won't have to push them or double-check everything. 2. The quality of their workmanship and materials is always excellent. 3. They are fair and honest, and will bend over backwards to make their customers happy and satisfied. 4. Everyone on staff has the proper training, academic degrees, certifications, etc., to know and practice their craft. 5. They utilize environmentally-friendly products and practices - such as providing locally-grown trees. 6. They are most friendly, nice and polite people you will ever want to meet. The whole Kjeldbjerg family (owners) AND their employees! Their work ethic and character comes from the top down.

I hired Poul's landscaping to come to our home to do a Spring Clean Up, Mulching and cleaning of my planting beds as well as removal of distressed plants and replacing with new plantings. He also designed my planting pots for my deck and front entry. My initial meeting with their maintenance supervisor was very professional. He was on time, has a great knowledge base and was willing to work with in my budget. I can not describe how absolutely beautiful my yard looks. The crew worked all day to accomplish their deadline with multiple tasks. They were courteous and professional. Poul's created a beautiful outdoor living space for us. I can not thank them nor recommend them enough.

I highly recommend this company! Poul's has done all of our landscaping design and installation since our house was built. We have used their services several times during our phased-in landscaping approach. Their very talented landscape architects' designs are beautiful and they take the time to meet with you to determine the best plan for your specific area, tastes, lifestyle and budget. I really like the fact that they have their own nursery and you can walk their property with a professional to pick out just the right tree or shrub if you want. The trees they planted for us several years ago were amazing and continue to thrive providing us with beautiful shade in just the right spot. Most recently, we've cleared out a brush line and Poul's designed and installed new flowering bushes and perennials which have completely changed the look of our back yard.
