I contacted Tanya after reading the reviews on Houzz. Hiring her to help me with every single design aspect of the building of my new home was the single best decision I made this year! We worked together for several months, from the design of kitchen and bathroom layouts, to choosing all finishes (cabinets, countertops, faucets, trims and doors, flooring, fireplace, etc.), to selecting lighting for the whole house, to choosing furniture for every room of the house, including finishes and colours, to finding art and accent pieces. Whether it is designing a brand new home, or redesigning an existing space, I now realize that working with a professional designer is an absolute must! And Tanya could not have been a better choice, truly. She brought her years of experience, her keen ability to understand her clients’ needs and preferences, and her exquisite eye for beauty, and made this project a true success. Without her, I would have easily been overwhelmed with all the decisions which needed to be made in this massive undertaking. Instead, I felt completely supported and expertly advised, enabling me to feel confident that the final product (my new house!) would be exactly what I was hoping. In fact, the final product exceeded my expectations, and the outcome is a home that radiates timeless beauty and class (without breaking the bank, to boot!), which I never could have envisioned on my own. Many - including myself - wrongly assume that hiring a designer is a luxury reserved for the wealthy. Nothing could be further from the truth. In fact, through Tanya’s recommendations, I was able to save much more money than it cost me to have her by my side over the last several months, to guide me through every single choice I made. I cannot recommend Tanya highly enough!

I hired Tanya to help with a complete renovation with a property I purchased. She was very helpful and efficient. Tanya provided concrete ideas how to integrate specific pieces of furniture (some of which she even selected). Also of note was her assistance with a couple of follow-up questions. While the project is not complete, I am very comfortable with the direction and the look that is emerging. I am definitely considering hiring her again to help me with some of the finishing touches. I was referred to Tanya by a friend. Once contacting her, Tanya was extremely responsive. I will admit, I was a bit concerned in viewing her website, links, etc. that she was too "fancy" for me - I could not have been more wrong! Tanya came in focused on assisting me with my trouble spots, using what I had and taking advantage of good price points. She was prompt, efficient and receptive. I have recommended her to numerous friends and we are all implementing her suggestions and falling back in love with our homes. One friend has even decided to renovate rather than move after meeting with Tanya! I will certainly use Tanya in the future as I make changes to my home.

Tanya Collins was an excellent person to hire for a paint colour and furniture consultation in our new home. She was prompt, professional, incredibly efficient and packed so much into her 75 minutes with us. She immediately understood our home decor goals and came up with a plan for our home that fit our style and our budget perfectly. I'd highly recommend her to anyone.

I hired Tanya to help with a condo renovation in Ottawa. She listened to my goals, and reworked the whole project within my budget. She was a joy to meet, and the value that she added to the condo is tangible. She was timely, accessible, very warm and invested, and she recommended contractors that were of the highest standards. I recognize that I have no gift for design, but the experience of working with her was so delightful that it was a highlight of the year. She made herself available to help with a second project, and the results are show stopping, and would never have been without her contributions. I cannot recommend her enough, not only for her skill and professionalism, but also for her glowing personality, which infused the whole experience with sunlight. She is a gem.

We first engaged Tanya several years ago to provide guidance on a smaller project, but most recently reached out on a larger design renovation of our main floor and basement. A few points that describe working with Tanya:- she has vision for a space and can quickly get a feel for a room and suggest a layout accordingly- she has great taste but will always listen to, and respect the final decision of the client. She is a good listener and is able to guide you to selections that reflect your preferences- she is flexible and will be as involved in the process as you want her to be (i.e. from simply providing advice, to purchasing the materials and working directly with contractors) - if you’re on a budget, she provides sound guidance on where to spend, and where to save- she is extremely responsive and will answer inquiries quickly in order to keep the project moving. She is also efficient and will not waste a moment of time throughout the design processTanya is an extremely talented design professional and we would recommend her without hesitation.

I hired Tanya Collins in the summer of 2015 to assist in a complete refurbishment of a historic home that we had newly purchased. I was new to Ottawa and really relied on Tanya to provide solid advice and stay within budget. I had my own design ideas which aligned closely with Tanya's vision for the renovation. I found her to be very attentive to our communication needs. As well, she was excellent at providing forward thinking design and cost saving solutions where possible. She pays close attention to detail and although she has her finger on the pulse of what is new and trending, she provided focus on achieving consistency and authenticity within our period home. I felt that I was being heard at all times and was encouraged to run ideas by her whenever needed. She has a very positive outlook on life, managing her clients, those working with her and everyone's expectations very well. I miss our regular chats.

We've used Tanya on two occasions with great results. First, we hired her to spruce up our downtown condo and more recently to used her advice on colour, furniture and fixture selections for a major Glebe home renovation. She is creative, responsive, easy to work with and has a rolodex of contractors that can be trusted. Her true gift is helping clients find their personal style and combining items to create a dramatic and complete look. We highly recommend Tanya and found good value in her services.

After hiring one designer who essentially did not listen to my needs, I was faced with staring at 300 paint swatches. Feeling isolated, I read numerous reviews and looked at a ton of inspiration photos but clearly could not make a decision. In desperate need of expert advice, I ran a search in Google, "Interior Designers in Ottawa" and Tanya Collins profile came up among others. I quickly looked at her page and was inspired by her designs and decided to reach out. With only 2 days to make a decision on final colours as the painter was at my heels, Tanya replied quickly and we agreed on a date to meet the very next day. Upon her arrival, she looked at the existing structure of the rooms, listened to my plight, looked at two inspiration photos and within 30 minutes, she answered my concerns and came up with a beautiful design. I was in awe. The painters have since come and gone and the house is absolutely, positively exquisite - four shades of grey and thanks to Tanya, my dream "look and feel" of a fresh, open and modern space has come true.
