Susanne Wood, our owner and lead designer, manages all of our detailed customer consultations and works directly with all of our clients to create and execute a unique vision that fits your personal garden style and specific needs. Most consults are on-site and typically last 1 1/2 hour. Susanne of Urban Roots helped me with a remodel of the balcony on our city loft apartment. We felt like this area is the highlight of the apartment and we wanted to create an urban oasis matching the theme of our modern asian interior. She designed and set-up an amazing quiet, meditative spot with decorative grasses, moss, low maple and pine trees (reminiscent of bonsai), wall-climbing ivy, tea house statue and modern-earthy containers. All of which she put on a drip system making it very easy to maintain! She has the ability to put forth and create what we vaguely envisioned and hoped to achieve. Because of her experience in the city, she is well aware of what it takes to keep these plants healthy and offers to schedule monthly maintenance, if needed. We enjoyed working with Susanne, a very down-to-earth person, with prowess both in creativity and urban landscape.

Urban Roots has been such a wonderful resource to use because they have made our deck turn into a magical garden. We could have never done it without Urban Roots. Several of our neighbors have used them as well following our recommendations.

Hello, My name is Mark, I am an owner of a custom metal fabrication shop in Denver Co. I have been working with Susanne Wood w/ Urban roots for a couple of years now . We have worked on a number of small space landscape projects together. My part of these projects, have been the fabrication of the custom containers , designed by Susanne. I am amazed at her vision when it comes to the design and space utilization on these projects . Susanne is pro when it comes to landscape architectural design and I am proud to be involved with her on these projects Mark

Urban Roots offers not only a unique, neighborhood source for interesting gift and garden ideas, but "small scape" planning expertise for our city-sized yards. Susanne was able to "read" our vision and personalities and understand our budget at our first meeting. Her positive attitude equaled her knowledge of how and what to plant to maximize our minimum space with an effective design that will give us years of enjoyment. She met deadlines, was on-site for planting, and stood behind her products.

I worked with Susanne on a small project a few months back as I was getting ready to put my house on the market. She was such a joy to work with and the end result of her vision was stunning; even better than what I was hoping for. Susanne brings such a great energy and passion to her projects; it's evident that she loves what she does. She was such a joy to work with and I already have plans to work with her on the new home I purchased. I can't wait see the creative ideas she comes up with!

Susanne and her team are complete professionals who know and care for plants. They have landscaped our challenging balcony for 2 years to great effect and, most recently, accomplished huge repotting task for our beloved Desert Rose and it is thriving. Great to work with, speedy and careful.

I live in a downtown condominium with terraces. While I had planters done before, I'd had limited success keeping them attractive and healthy. Susanne, not only recognized and modified some issues (and was kind enough not to mention my total incompetence!) but planted flowers and greenery that managed to look absolutely beautiful from spring until fall with very little maintenance.

I've loved working with Suzanne. She is fun to work with, flexible around peoples schedule, and efficient but mostly importantly she is extremely talented and creative. Ive used Suzanne in very different settings....one is a large terrace area on a very contemporary building in downtown Denver and second is my personal residence which is located on a few acres of land. The planters that we have on the terrace location we switch out about 4 times a year. Each time we've done this we've been delighted with the outcome. She has introduced us to new plants which normally we would not think of and have loved it everytime. As for my personal residence I had Suzanne come and decorate my house for Christmas this year. Not only did she make 3 awesome wreaths she also created wonderful holiday arrangements that lasted over 3 weeks. All I did was tell her the colors I liked best and she did the rest. We had silver bulbs, remote controlled pillar candles, pine comes and a mixture of real and man made evergreens. Just loved it all.
