Dallas, Texas – Private Rustic Estate
These images display our design details of the front yard and the challenges we were faced with. A visitor is greeted with the curved oversized Pennsylvania Blue Stone walkway with varying size river rock creating a causal walk to the front door. The embroidery of textures and colors in the landscape introduce the soft approachable experience of the garden. A challenge in the front was drainage. With the addition of the pool in the backyard creating a barrier for water to get to the alley we had to re-grade the area so that all water would drain to the front of the property. The dry creek river bed has a twofold purpose in the landscape. First it carries the excess water during heavy rains and secondly it is bold design statement in the landscape. One walks along the playful creek to the front door and at one point passes over a large flagstone that is a bridge over the creek. This creek bed detail in the landscape directs the eye to the front door.
