UNIK Interior DesignsThis vignette features the eclecticism of adding antiques to a room. The gothic arches speak to the elements of the Tudor style and tie in the gold accents in the room. The serving table mimics the lines of the dining table legs. The wine rack is made from the staves of the barrels and continue the warmth of the wood.

This is one of my all-time favorite finishes in one of my favorite all-time custom homes. The wall plaster was first textured with a cool artistic eclectic pattern as a very rich backdrop to the red glazing and the art. Who would have thought you could hang Fortuni wall sconses over this sexy finish??? On the ceiling, we choose to create a subtle yet rich crackle over a similar not-so-heavy texture. This was a nice leathery balance to the wealth of color in the stone flooring, the balance of wood, the strength of the furniture, including the stunning 18' wood slab table all in one piece from Chile AND the two bronze chandeliers. Gorgeous. I love my job!

KitchenVisionsThe wall and doorway came down between the kitchen and dining room. A prep space and seating were created at the new peninsula.
By bumping the exterior wall into the dining room, it allowed for symmetrical space on both sides of the window.
CM Natural DesignsThis adorable beach cottage is in the heart of the village of La Jolla in San Diego. The goals were to brighten up the space and be the perfect beach get-away for the client whose permanent residence is in Arizona. Some of the ways we achieved the goals was to place an extra high custom board and batten in the great room and by refinishing the kitchen cabinets (which were in excellent shape) white. We created interest through extreme proportions and contrast. Though there are a lot of white elements, they are all offset by a smaller portion of very dark elements. We also played with texture and pattern through wallpaper, natural reclaimed wood elements and rugs. This was all kept in balance by using a simplified color palate minimal layering.

Upside DevelopmentUpside Development completed an contemporary architectural transformation in Taylor Creek Ranch. Evolving from the belief that a beautiful home is more than just a very large home, this 1940’s bungalow was meticulously redesigned to entertain its next life. It's contemporary architecture is defined by the beautiful play of wood, brick, metal and stone elements. The flow interchanges all around the house between the dark black contrast of brick pillars and the live dynamic grain of the Canadian cedar facade. The multi level roof structure and wrapping canopies create the airy gloom similar to its neighbouring ravine.

Michelle Yorke Interior Design LLCA dining area fit for a King and Queen. In the past, royals were known for dressing their homes in dramatic coloring, red being a popular choice. We had a lot of fun creating this style, as we used fiery crimsons, refined patterns, and bold accents of gold and crystal, which was perfect for this large dining room that sits ten!
