Versa HomesThe “Rustic Classic” is a 17,000 square foot custom home built for a special client, a famous musician who wanted a home befitting a rockstar. This Langley, B.C. home has every detail you would want on a custom build.
For this home, every room was completed with the highest level of detail and craftsmanship; even though this residence was a huge undertaking, we didn’t take any shortcuts. From the marble counters to the tasteful use of stone walls, we selected each material carefully to create a luxurious, livable environment. The windows were sized and placed to allow for a bright interior, yet they also cultivate a sense of privacy and intimacy within the residence. Large doors and entryways, combined with high ceilings, create an abundance of space.
A home this size is meant to be shared, and has many features intended for visitors, such as an expansive games room with a full-scale bar, a home theatre, and a kitchen shaped to accommodate entertaining. In any of our homes, we can create both spaces intended for company and those intended to be just for the homeowners - we understand that each client has their own needs and priorities.

Bishop WoodcraftBishop Woodcraft specializes in custom staircraft. We love to create unique stairs for unique individuals. This distinctive stair in Park City, UT consists of Rustic White Oak treads, stone tile risers, and a 6" thick bent stringer in Alder (that’s 24 layers!) which we eased and softened through 5 pitch changes. The steel guardrail was the owner’s own design and includes a gun-blue patina finish.

UserA bespoke solid oak traditional design 2x¼ turn staircase with ¼ landings that include oak strings, treads, risers, newel posts, spindles and handrails. The spindles have a stop chamfered section and are traditionally connected to the handrails and strings. The entry tread has a bullnose on 1 side with a 2D riser. The gallery matches the stair design including oak apron boards, base rails and trims.

Interior Changes home design & consultingThe round staircase was one of the most important features of the foyer design. This custom walnut staircase was re-designed several times until it met all of the homeowners desires~ a heavy handrail with custom metal brackets that would be visually interesting and in many ways a piece of art! The homeowners found the metal leaf chandelier in Europe and had it custom sized and brought to Eagle River for installation. Everything from the form of each element in this staircase to the amazing lighting that transforms it every night is ART!
Elegant Hardwood FloorsEntry and Staircase | This has by far been our most technically challenging house, and I can't be more proud of the work Clay, Matt and Will did! This house had tons of challenges - rounded tile at the entry, rounded upstairs hallway exposed to the downstairs, floor to ceiling posts that intersected our work throughout the home, and very few walls with right angles. Clay Anderson, of Anderson Service, made all of the custom radius pieces for the entry and upstairs hallway, and installed this beautiful staircase. Matt installed the 5" long length casa hickory. Will stained the floor with Nutmeg stain and applied the polyurethane finish. The least challenging part - our wonderful homeowners! EdgewoodOver time, a log wall built using mainstream construction methods can settle up to an inch per foot of height, both as it dries out and compresses under roof and snow loads. If not addressed, this settling can lead to cracked windows, doors that don’t close, uneven stairs and damaged cabinetry. It can take two years for nature to complete this process on its own, but using our computer-monitored compression kilns, we can complete the process in two weeks.
