Garden room/ Family room renovation
The family room is adjacent to the garden room and connect by a large door opening. The same color palette was used in both rooms to make the family room feel larger and a part of the garden room visually.
Originally, there were bookshelves on 2 walls in a medium tone wood finish similar to the floor stain. This room was very dark in comparison to the garden room which was flooded by natural light.
Working with John James Architect AIA, we eliminated the bookcases on one wall and replaced them with 2 windows and added supplemental lighting in flush mount, recessed lighting and picture lights. The bookcases, new coffered ceiling and new fireplace mantle were all painted white to brighten up the room.
Objects in the bookcases were from the clients extensive travels.
