Hill Country Vacation Home
Pole barn extends to cover a parking area.
Barn acts as an oversized sun shade/umbrella over the 1200 SF diminutive vacation home. Summer sun at mid-day is shaded from the south facing house by the barn, whereas winter sun is allowed in to warm the home. At the equinox each winter and spring, the deck is fully in sun and the house is shaded. Each day following the sun is either further blocked (heading toward the summer solstice) or allowed into the house (heading toward the winter solstice).
Concrete foundation is board-formed concrete.
