For back door area: Outdoor rugs are ideal in the entry because you can literally hose them off as needed. Natural-fiber rugs like jute, sisal and sea grass feel great on bare summer feet and are easy to shake out.

Double sink with lowered divider. allows you to have one side for soaking a pan, and other side for doing prep work, using disposal, etc. i think i like it better than two sinks with higher divider, and one big sink which feels messy to me when i'm at colleen's

Good info for stovetop: Pay attention to the range of BTUs among all the burners. You’ll want some burners that get down to a low simmer of about 3,000 BTUs and perhaps one burner that gets all the way up to 12,000 for boiling a large pot of pasta or stock.
