Spirea underplanted with Heuchera, to the right is Hackonechloa, next to it is Hosta Frances Williams. As the border moves into deeper shade, Ligularia with purple foliage. Behind is Astilbe taquetii, Arancus diocus and Alchemilla mollis. In the shade I use Hydrangea quercifolia and Hydrangea macrophylla for larger foliage and taller presence. Astilbes of all different shades are sprinkled throughout the border.
