Identical to our kitchen if eliminate hall. Note coat closet same location. That closet could be made kitchen cabinets, along with twice its width to the right (if steal alcove from office behind). Rightmost portion is HVAC location.
Identical to our kitchen if eliminate hall I's suggest make island shorter and rotate it 90 degrees, so it doesn't stick so far into dining area. Stools OK with backs to living room. Bookcase on end facing back yard.

Nice combination of low shutters and roman shade for control of light and privacy. Better would be no shutters, but roman shade's top and bottom edges can both be lowered (so you can block the window from the top down, or the bottom up).

Nice wide vanity
Another way to get natural light to vanity, ideally from both sides. Backlit is not so good.
LOVE the idea of plentiful natural light surrounding the mirror! Also note the wide work surface.
This is a typical narrow vanity. The work surface needs to be far wider, like 4' to 5', with no upper cupboards in that zone.
Roman shades that can be lowered from top to allow view and retain privacy...or raised from bottom to allow full opening. Especially nice in bathrooms, bedrooms.
Pull-out spice rack (or is it for cans / bottles). We'd prefer shallow drawers, within which spices lay flat. Vertical pan dividers up high. This looks like a compact kitchen; ideas for ADU?

Nice versatile towel heater, vertical. easy access with one side of it open. This is my ideal...bathmat near the bottom, 1-2 towels above. By shower is ideal and nice if it can also be near sink.

LOVE certain aspects of this kitchen. Dark island, light wall cabinets. Island wood is lightly ornamented, not overdone (this is too Tuscan or Louis XIV, don't need ornate cooktop hood). Curved molding on island ends is great! Enclosing the stool nook is elegant (but results in banged shins perhaps). Edge of countertops too thick and ornate; simple half round preferred. Oven(s) not under cooktop (too hot for the cook). Microwave counter height for convenience. Warming drawer ideally if there's room (maybe under microwave just below counter height)?
Love the low stucco walls right of center, with concrete cap. Run this along top of view slopes south and west?
Deep arch at left, with small sconces. Nice for an entry? For round top doors from vestibule?
Stucco wall with trees adding height and privacy...maybe for front of house. Tom loves luxurious look of tall stucco wall, but worries about cost / weight / stability. And Tom doesn't want maintenance hassle (and worn look) of wooden fence.

Combination of dark island cabinets and white wall cabinets. Nice woodwork on island. Neutral natural countertops work with both cabinet colors.
Gorgeous hallway!! Not the chandelier nor sconces. Love wainscoting and doors. "Pillar top" capitals under arches are a bit much. Something like this leading to vestibule? Or, instead of round top doorway, use very tall rectangular doors that open into niches and lay flush to wall when open, to emphasize continuity.

Low cabinets dark, but taller ones white to echo walls and avoid overbearing dark masses up high. Note the wall is illuminated from both above and below the wall-hung cabinets.
Love dark cabinets with lighter floor. Interesting to see tall cabinets in white echoing white walls (and dark counter). Gold accents interesting. Maybe oil rubbed bronze instead
Mudroom ideas: Indoor shoes under bench, we don't have lots of those. Outdoor shoes cover the opposing wall; we have tons of those, and don't want to drop dirt onto bench. Just inside door is package area with cupboard below, maybe drawers for glasses, keys, etc. We could do shelves behind the bench, or cupboards (with bottom edge of door at least a foot above bench), but not coathooks.
Like the concept of an entry hall...a room that allows entry with doors allowing rest of house to remain out of sight.

Nice shoe room. Seating has little or nothing above it, that's good. Coats should be hidden in closets, not cubbies. Need massive shoe storage, and a fairly large table for packages and groceries coming in and out.
